Training
The Army CSP is a component of the Soldier Life Cycle that encourages Soldiers to capitalize on training and development opportunities throughout their military careers - both in uniform and as civilians beyond their military service.
CSPs provide Soldiers with the opportunity to participate in career and employment skill training opportunities during transition, to improve employment options upon separation from military service.
CSP opportunities include:
• Apprenticeship
• Internship
• On-the-Job Training (OJT)
• Job Shadowing
• Employment Skills Training

CSP Prerequisites
Soldier must be within 180 days of separation date
Soldier must complete mandated SFL-TAP Classes
Soldier must have Battalion Commander’s signature authorizing CSP
participation
Additional Signature Authority required for PTDY over 30 Days

Permissive TDY Change
Unclassified
Authorizes use of Permissive TDY for Soldiers participating in a validated Army CSP activity.
The first O-6 commander in the chain-of-command can approve up to 30 days of PTDY.
This authority may be delegated to a Battalion Commander, but no further.
Commanders having court martial authority can approve up to 120 days of PTDY. This
authority may be delegated to a Brigade Commander, but no further.
Total Permissive TDY may not exceed 120 days; may not be used ICW other temporary
duty, leave or pass; etc. Any program that exceeds 120 days requires an Exception to Policy
signed by the US Army G1 (or a designated delegate).
