INTRODUCTION Muhlenberg’s Career Center assists students in exploring careers, finding internships and jobs, and seeking admission to graduate school. Whether the question is “What am I going to do with my life?” or “How do I write a resume?” the Career Center has extensive counseling, workshops, library and electronic resources to help students and alumni achieve their goals. Students are encouraged to begin using the Career Center as early as their first year.

Among the programs and services of the Career Center are the following:

• Resume and cover letter counseling • Interview skills training • Summer jobs and internships counseling • The Annual Muhlenberg Job and Internship Fair • Lehigh Valley Collegiate Career Expo • Rotating Programs and Workshops • Muhlenberg Shadow Program (day on the job with a Muhlenberg alum) • The Muhlenberg Network (connection to any of over 600 alumni in a wide array of fields for information and career advice • Career Resource Library

Each year representatives from business, industry and non-profit organizations visit campus to interview and recruit students. In addition, more and more initial recruitment is being done online. Students can access Career Center information and job listings via the Internet.

An intensive Senior Year Experience is aimed at helping students prepare for and successfully negotiate the transition that takes place upon graduation. Built on the three pegs of “Reflection,” “Integration” and “Transition,” the year-long program helps students reflect on, synthesize and integrate their college experiences, and also helps them with “next steps” for the post-college challenges.
