The Office of Congressman Heck serves the residents of the 10th Congressional District of Washington. The

10th Congressional District contains most of Pierce County, nearly all of Thurston County and a portion of

Mason County. An internship in Congressman Heck's District Office provides a great opportunity for

students to learn first-hand how our government works. Interns learn about the legislative process, as well as

Youth in Service collaborates with motivated 18-25 year olds to develop community leadership skills and to

positively contribute to the lives of local youth and families. YIS is an experiential service program that

provides opportunities for personal development through community service and leadership. We are

passionate and committed to supporting the positive development of children, youth and the community. We

offer training that will enhance your term of service now and for years to come. This is an AmeriCorps

stipend volunteer position.
