About Us

• Our two main programs are: School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten Program

• ELCHC serves approximately 74 percent of 4-year-olds through the VPK program

• We work with approximately 1000 providers in Hillsborough County

• The Coalition offers trainings, coaching, Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R), consumer and professional education, and a comprehensive array of services

• Nuestros dos programas principales son: School Readiness y programa voluntario de prekindergarten (VPK)

• ELCHC sirve aproximadamente al 74 por ciento de los niños de 4 años a través del programa VPK

School Readiness (SR) Program

• ELCHC administers and coordinates child care subsidies for children birth up to 13 years in Hillsborough County

• Approximately 12,000 children served per month

• Limited availability for children in target populations

• Must establish a purpose for care (At-Risk, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, low-income employed family)

• Children are served based on statutory priorities

• Parents choose their providers

• El ELCHC administra y coordina los subsidios de cuidado infantil para niños de hasta 13 años en el condado de Hillsborough

• Aproximadamente 12,000 niños atendidos por mes

• Disponibilidad limitada para niños en poblaciones objetivo (identificadas)

• Minimum required credentials and ratios

• Parents choose between 540-hour school year program or 300-hour summer program

What are the new CARES grants? • Two types:

❖ Phase 1: Emergency Child Care Relief Grants

❖ Phase 2: High Quality Reopening Support Grants

• A provider may only apply one of these grants

• Dos tipos:

❖Fase 1: Becas de ayuda de emergencia para el cuidado infantil

Initial Eligibility for Phase 1 & Phase 2 Grantsfor non-contracted providers

• Must have an approved Child Care Resource & Referral Provider Profile

• Have no Class I licensing violations within the past 12 months

• Cannot have had a SR or VPK contract that was terminated for cause within the past five years

• Not on the Florida Child Care Food Program (CCFP) USDA Disqualified List

Elegibilidad inicial para subvenciones de fase 1 y fase 2para proveedores no contratados

• Debe tener un perfil de proveedor de recursos y referencias de cuidado infantil aprobado

• No tener infracciones de licencia de Clase I en los últimos 12 meses.

Phase 2 Eligibility –High Quality Reopening Support Grants• To be eligible, providers must also

meet the following:

• Were closed for business April 30 but have either reopened or plan on reopening by August 1, 2020

• Must have a CLASS Composite Score of at least 3.50 or be a Gold Seal Provider

• Must complete a spending plan as part of the application

Fase 2 - Becas de apoyo de reapertura para proveedores de alta calidad• Para ser elegible, los proveedores:

• estaban cerrados por actividad el 30 de abril, pero se han reabierto o planean reabrir antes del 1 de agosto de 2020

• Debe tener un puntaje compuesto de CLASE de al menos 3.50 o ser un proveedor de GOLD SEAL (sello de oro)

What is Child Care Resource & Referral?

• Your early education program can be listed within our database as a resource for Hillsborough County families

• Your program’s listing, whether contracted with the ELCHC or not, can be made available to parents seeking care

• The CCR&R Provider Profile is completed in OEL Provider Services Portal

• Register as soon as possible to begin the process

• Follow the link to register

• You will need to enter your Taxpayer ID and your License Number. Exempt providers will enter EXEMPT in this field

• Make sure to enter the first three letters (capitalized) of your License Number

• Update/complete information on registration page and select Register to submit

• If asked to verify address, select the USPS Address as long as the address is correct

• Once registration is submitted, the ELC is notified to review and activate the account

• You will receive an email when your account is created

• For 2020-2021 new contracts, the provider must complete a 2020-2021 Provider Profile first

• Starting with the first tab, “General,” complete the information in each tab of the Provider Profile

• You will not be able to skip to the Sign & Certify tab at any time – always review first
