The Goals Behind This

“In an effort to support our teachers in the Humanities in their quest to be both transparent in their practices as well as to help them continue their learning on their own time, we would like to provide them with laptop computers.

Much of the administrative tasks that teachers have traditionally been asked to do have become mechanized: attendance, grading, lesson planning, and lesson design—all require teachers to have access to a computer to complete. By providing them with mobile computers, they are free to do that work either here in school, or anywhere they can find space. As it stands now, teachers have access, for the most part, to one computer in their classroom, and in the media center.

Students come to us having been immersed in a home environment that is rich with media and technology; it surrounds them. Equipping our teachers with the ability to experiment, play, and design lessons on their own time, using tools that we can provide for them demonstrates the Verona Public Schools’ commitment to helping them grow and learn so that they can, in turn, provide the very same for the children of Verona High School.”

Leaving your computer plugged in all the time will decrease the life of your battery. Electrons like to move, let them.

That said, don’t let your battery go all the way to 0%. That’s not so good.
