I walked in and immediately thought wow, if I was building myself a house this is exactly the way I would have it.”

“The house has a lovely big entrance hall, which has a really welcoming feel; it’s as big as some living rooms,” continues Alison, “and the majority of the main living areas flow directly from it. It’s a fabulous layout that’s ideal for busy family life, and all of the rooms are really spacious so you don’t ever get the feeling of being on top of one another; it’s also a great house to entertain in.”

This lovely home is set within around three acres of grounds, which incorporate a generously proportioned garden, beyond which is a large field with stabling. “It’s lovely being surrounded by so much beautiful countryside,” says Alison. “You don’t need to worry about being overlooked, and you can sit in bed in the morning with a nice cup of tea and see for miles. It’s just lovely.”
