Carlos Reyes Selected Works

Too much lightness is heaviness, and it is from too much heaviness that lightness reigns again, because we adjust to it. 13.5-14% moisture; 135 pounds per square inch; 40-50 times its original size. It is as if what rises out of transformation stays the same.

To inquire through material is a chance to think about the mutable through things like the viscosity of air, temperature change, doubt.... this is really putting a value on time, the action that sculpts the form.

Industrial fans heavy with bread, a garment filled with chirping crickets, land traced by the fading sound of a motorcycle, popcorn (magnificent holder of explosion) transfigured in scent, horror, and celebration, blown glass unfolding into symbiosis.
