  • Agenda

  • LG Solar module output graph

The power and efficiency of solar panels are also factors that

consumers are most interested in. Assuming the same area

or number of panels, the higher the power and efficiency of

the product, the higher the power generation and the more

profitable it is for the consumer.

    LG's NeON® 2 and NeON® R are premium, high-end

products with respectively up to 370W/21.4% and

385W/22.3% power and efficiency. They are high-

performance products that easily surpass the highest

specifications of 300W/17.5% of the existing LG Mono

    product.

  • ESS Energy Storage and Control

  • • Most homeowners ask for an ESS for off-grid poweraccording to LG surveys.

    • Whole-home Back-up confuses customers on how challenging it has been to achieve.

    • Planned Utility shut-offs arebeing more and more common (California)

    • Energy independence gets us closer to the home of the future.

Three types of the main Smart Energy

    Managementapplications:

Zero-export: The battery is automatically charged or discharged to meet energy balance requirement and never exports power to grid.

    1

Time of Use (TOU): The system operated according to a configurable time setting. This is mostly utilized for TOU peak utility rates (Charge from PV in the day and discharge in the evenings).

    3

Self-consumption: The PV and battery power automatically used to meet consumption needs and reduces the amount of electricity purchased from the grid.

    from Google Earth

A very big tree on the south side of the house casts a

shadow on the modules all day long, especially in the winter. In general most PV systems perform poorly under these conditions, but the ACe2 is

    generating electricity at its best.

  • System Location : Las Vegas, NVSystem size : 20.6 kWNote : Local shading due to A/C, wall and tree

    from Google Earth

    from Google Earth

The parapet walls separating the roofs, A/C equipment and trees east

of the house produce shade, an obstacle to production. Even if there

is shade that occurs over time, modules that produce independently

    maximize power generation.

  • System Location : Ramona, CASystem size : 7.9 kWNote : Wide-open but small local shading due to tree

    from Google Earth

    from Google Earth

There are few obstacles around, in this ideal case study. A large tree on the south side of the house produces some shadow

according to the season. The largest monthly power

generation was 1.58 MWh in July.

  • ProductWhen most people think of warranties, they think of a product warranty. A product warranty is what covers the item youhave purchased against manufacturer defects. LG is able to offer a 25 year warranty against defects, breakage or any otherproduct issues, in the rare case that one would arise. To give you an example of how rare it is that an LG panel wouldexperience an issue, of the roughly 800,000 panels sold in Australia within the past eight years (at the time of writing), lessthan 20 had warranty claims due to manufacturing faults. That's a failure rate of approximately 0.00025 percent. Nowonder they are guaranteed for so long!

PerformanceWhen the sun shines on solar panels the change that occurs to the panel is called scorch. Scorch causes all panels to loseefficiency over time. While scorch affects all panels, some panels resist it better than others. LG's performance warrantyguarantees your panel's performance over a 25 year period. For example, the LG NeON® R and NeON® 2 is guaranteedto work to 88.4 percent of its day one capacity after a quarter of a century of use. Standard panels won't guarantee thistype of production. It is important to know what the performance guarantee is for the panel you buy.

LaborMost manufacturers will not guarantee labor costs in the event of a panel needing to be replaced. That means that eventhough they may replace the panel, they will not pay someone to climb up on your roof to remove the damaged paneland install the new one. As the labor can be more expensive than the panel itself, a standard warranty is of little value if itdoesn't have a labor warranty to go with it. LG will cover labor costs in the rare case of a needed module repair orreplacement up to $450.

Invest with LG, your product, performance and labor warranties are all covered for 25 years!
