One day in 2013, Sydney, Mom and Shawn decided to load up the car and drive to Carlsbad, New Mexico....

Our first stop was to eat at Ralph And Kacoo's restaurant (one of Mom's

'n BeeBaw's favorites) in Louisiana where the food was delicious.

We took a ferry to get to Galveston Island where we ate at "The Original" ...one of the best meals of the trip!

A day at the beach was on the 'to do' list as well as a trip to Murdoch's for some souvenir shopping.

It was a hot day for walking around Galveston... We stopped in at the Star drug Store for an ice cream treat!

We made it to San Antonio and could not wait to eat at Casa Rio.

Casa Rio is one of the most popular eateries on San Antonio's Riverwalk.

There are many things see and explore along the Riverwalk!

We stayed at the Crockett Hotel in San Antonio and enjoyed the best breakfast buffet of our trip. Huevos Rancheros... Yum!

The Crockett Hotel is directly adjacent to the Alamo property so exploring Alamo Plaza and surrounding areas was easy and fun.

It took all day to make it through the San Antonio Zoo. There were about 5 restaurants throughout the Zoo but the smell of a Zoo overwhelms my willingness to eat at a Zoo. However this tiger had no problem enjoying his steak served rare...

... and it seems this primate prefers a nice salad.

Walking,downtown San Antonio , We ended up at 'El Mercado': a market area of warehouse type buildings with souvenir shops and restaurants. Mi Tierra Bakery was a happy find... we each had a treat.

We took a day and made our way to Boerne, TX, the Cowboy Capitol, USA. There's not much to this little town, but Mom found a shop and had them serve us up some cool chocolate milk shakes.

Walking, walking, walking through downtown San Antonio , We ended up at 'El Mercado': a market area of warehouse type buildings with souvenir shops and restaurants. Mi Tierra Bakery was a happy find... we each had a treat.

More walking, walking, walking through downtown San Antonio, We wish we had more time to see more...

We finally did make it to Carlsbad, New Mexico...

The only place we could find to eat was Chili's and we were thankful! The only place to stay was a Motel that advertised bug free mattresses and a beautiful sunset!
