Size

3 sizes: Woman’s size S/M - L/XL - XXL/XXXL.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Yoke width (with picot edging): 27-29-31 cm

Yarn

Fingering weight cotton yarn: 50 g for all sizes (based on a

yardage of 170 m/50 g).

Needle and Hook

3.5 mm needle (US 4) for knit yoke - or size needed to get

20 sts of pattern P1 + P2 + P1 and 6 rows to measure 7 x 2

cm.

3.5 mm hook (US E) for picot edgings and shoulder straps.

Material

Blouse/top in light weight material.

Notes

- The yoke of the top is knitted sideways in eyelet sts, then a picot edging is crocheted around the finished yoke.

The shoulder straps and hem edging are worked in the same picot edging.

- To achieve the size specified in the pattern, match the gauge by using smaller or bigger size needle/hook.

- Rep *-* refers to repeating the instruction within * and * across or to specified number of times in total.

- Edge st: Always knit the 1st and last st of every row.

Patterns

See chart P1 (pattern 1) and P2. Charts show patterns seen from RS, they are read from right to left, and from bottom

up.

Knit yoke

CO 20 sts. On 1st row (RS) work: K 1 - read Edge st under notes above, work P1 once, P2 once, and P1 one more time, k 1.

Continue with pattern sts upward with 1 edge st at each end of row - until you have completed 12-13-14 reps of P2 in

length. BO after the last row (row 6) in last rep of P2. Do not cut yarn!

Picot edging

With RS facing, turn the yoke 90° clockwise around, insert crochet hook in the last st, ch 1, work 1 sc in the 1st row, work

1 sc in every row across each end with rows, approx. 14 scs across each short end, join with 1 sl st in 1st sc.

On next rnd work: Ch 1, 1 sc in 1st sc, * ch 3, 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook (= 1 picot), skip next sc, 1 sc in next sc *, rep *-*

around - but after last picot at end of rnd, join with 1 sl st in 1st sc at beg of rnd, fasten off.

Work 1 more knit yoke with picot edging in the same way.

Shoulder strap

With crochet hook, work foundation ch in 16-18-20 cm. Turn and work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 3, 1 sc in 3rd ch from

hook (= 1 picot), skip next ch, 1 sc in next ch *, rep *-* across the foundation ch - but after last sc at end of foundation

ch, turn and work *-* across the other side of foundation ch, join with 1 sl st in 1st sc at beg of rnd, fasten off. Make 1

more strap in the same way. Sew the straps to the corner of the knit yokes - see pictures below.

Bodice

Mark where you want the knit yoke begins on your blouse (approx. 4-5 cm above base of armhole, see left picture

above). If you’re using a blouse with sleeves, cut off sleeves and upper part of yoke of the blouse - leaving approx. 2 cm

for seam allowances around the armhole. Fold back the seam allowance and sew around armhole, then zigzag the top

edge on front/back piece.

Put your knit yoke (with RS facing) on top of the zigzagged edge (approx. 2 cm overlap), gather the fabric evenly and pin,

sew a seam across the 1st rnd of scs of the yoke edging. Pin and sew the other yoke on the other side.

Hem edging

Use the measurement of the hem of your bodice and work foundation ch

with the same circumference - tip! For a neater edging, use a bigger hook

for ONLY the foundation ch, join with sl st in 1st ch. With the same hook

that was used earlier, work picots as for shoulder strap across the

foundation ch, join with 1 sl st in 1st sc, ch 2, continue to work picots on

the other side of foundation ch, join with 1 sl st in 1st sc, fasten off.

Pin the picot edging to bottom hem of bodice (approx. 1 cm overlap), sew

a seam across the middle of the edging.

Enjoy your top!
