Lesson 9 - Changing CAS Text
Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
Identify the two main types of text sets in CAS.• Use Embedded Text Codes.• Identify text codes for minutes and resolutions.• Change text in a paragraph in the directors meeting minute.• Create a freeform minutes or resolution in CAS.•
Details
CAS text is used for documents such as meeting minutes/resolutions, consent and/or resignation letters, directors' reports and statements, letters and invoices, just to mention a few. BGL provides clients withmaster text. This text is referred to as Master Set 9. Master Set 9 comprises many individual text paragraphs, each with a unique code. These paragraph codes are then used by CAS to produce all Hong Kongdocumentation.
Master Set 9 must never be altered. With each software update, BGL will update Master Set 9, therefore anychanges made will be lost.
When using the advance editing tool, the Edit Template function will copy a text paragraph from the MasterSet into the Client Set. The paragraph code in client set is identical to the code used in Master Set, CAS willalways select the text in the Client Set. The changes made to the text will be applied to all companies.
Embedded Text Codes
CAS allows users to prepare freeform minutes, letters and invoices. The documents can then be generatedusing the default report format of all minutes, letters and invoices in CAS.
Users can also include embedded text in all reports in CAS. The embedded text items can be included in textparagraphs where users wish to select a variable rather than a fixed item. For example, instead of creating adocument with today's date in the body of the document, users can enter the code ?^CDAT?. CAS will thenautomatically insert the current date into the document when printed.
For a list of all embedded codes in CAS, refer the "Embedded Text Codes" help page.
