SVP – Voice QualityWireless Service Quality Management
RCATS® SVP –Voice Quality enables wireless service providers to automatically test the voice quality of calls made across various locations within their network.
The Voice Quality SVP compares the received audio with the sent audio, producing a Mean Opinion Score (MOS) that predicts overall subjective listening quality without requiring actual human testing. Test results are reported in real-time, providing operators with full visibility into current network performance and enabling rapid-response to issues.
The Voice Quality SVP enables operators to test a variety of local and long-distance scenarios, including mobile-to-mobile, mobile-to-wireline and wireline-to-mobile. It also enables operators to compare the quality associated with specific access technologies (i.e., GSM vs. UMTS or CDMA vs. 1xRTT) or core networks (circuit-switched vs. packet-based). Specific to mobile phones and networks, the profiles are fully-parameterized and extensible, enabling operators to develop their own profiles to address complex or operator-specific test requirements. In addition to the fully-automated test mode, the solution also provides operators with an interactive mode for validating network modifications prior to deployment or for troubleshooting network or service issues.
The Voice Quality SVP is part of the patented Casabyte RCATS solution, which enables automated testing, centralized management and aggregated reporting for large numbers of deployed probes. The solution allows wireless operators to access real-time, network-wide performance and availability information, enabling them to use this information to increase service quality, increase revenue and reduce costs.
The Voice Quality SVP provides an automated, distributed solution to proactively test voice quality over a variety of call scenarios. For each test, the SVP validates end-to-end voice calls over the air interface and through the operator’s network. It then assesses the speech quality of the voice call using industry-standard ITU algorithms that specifically address impairments commonly found in wireless and packet-based networks.

The QoSManager provides a powerful platform for automatically executing mul-tiple test profiles across hundreds of Remote Test Probes (RTPs). Each QoSMan-ager provides a test scheduler, configured through the QoSExecutive, that enables RCATS users to execute test scenarios at designated times and be notified upon the completion of the test. Upon completion of each test, the QoSManager populates the database in the QoSExecutive with the test results, including service-specific measurements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The QoSManager can also deliver these results to external systems via e-mail, FTP or through an SQL inter-face. The tests profiles are created separately from within the QoSTestCase Builder.
To facilitate service validation testing, the QoSManager provides the ability to inter-act with Remote Test Probes (RTPs) during tests to originate and receive calls, voice messages, short text messages (SMS) and e-mail, as well as to send and detect fax, DTMF and single frequency tones. For testing that requires HLR interaction, the QoSManager can directly access and control these external network nodes via custom integration or telnet-based programs to dynamically reprogram subscriber and service profiles. GSM operators can optionally use QoSManager to control the RCATS Mobile Identity (MI) Server, providing a centralized reposi-tory of SIM modules for use by remotely-located RTPs.
The QoSManager is part of the patented Casabyte RCATS solution, which enables automated test-ing, centralized management and aggregated reporting for large numbers of deployed probes. The solution allows wireless operators to access real-time, network-wide performance and avail-ability information, enabling them to use this information to increase service quality, increase revenue and reduce costs.
Wireless operators face enormous pressure to attract and retain subscribers through new service offerings and improved network quality. Casabyte, the leader in end-to-end service quality moni-toring solutions for wireless networks, has specifically designed the turn-key RCATS solutions for large-scale, operator-grade deployments worldwide.

Mobile Identity ServerWireless Service Quality Management
The RCATS® Mobile Identity (MI) Server enables wireless service providers to automatically load and test, from a central location, multiple SIM cards into geographically dispersed Remote Test Probes. (GSM networks only)
Remote Test Probe (RTP)
The Mobile Identity (MI) Server allows the rapid, automated testing of wireless voice, data and messaging services using multiple SIMs. For wireless phones using GSM, GPRS, EDGE or HSDPA technologies, the SIM is the unique identity of the phone; it represents important information that discriminates one subscriber from another, and determines what features the subscriber will be granted access to on the wireless network.
Consisting of an MI Server Controller and one or more MI Server Chassis’, the MI Server solution provides a centrally-located pool of SIM modules for testing various subscriber profiles in remote locations. It allows the remotely-located test instrument, the Remote Test Probe, to quickly switch identities, choosing from any of 36 SIMs in each MI Server Chassis. Multiple MI Server Chassis’ can be grouped together to provide a central repository of hundreds or even thousands of SIMs. The solution eliminates the need to physically send SIMs and technicians to each location, significantly reducing labor costs and logistical complexity.
The MI Server is part of the patented Casabyte RCATS solution, which provides automated testing, centralized management and aggregated reporting for large numbers of deployed probes. The solution allows wireless operators to access real-time, network-wide performance and availability information, enabling them to use this information to increase service quality, increase revenue and reduce costs.

RCATS Managed Services
RoamerNet is a managed service offering based on the Casabyte RCATS solution that
allows wireless operators to test their service offerings outside their existing networks
without the need to deploy their own test equipment.
Designed to provide all the benefits of the Casabyte RCATS platform, RoamerNet enables
wireless service providers to define and execute customized service quality testing to audit
and monitor the performance of their mobile voice, data and messaging services worldwide.
In GSM networks, RoamerNet is designed to utilize the RCATS Mobile Identity (MI) Server.
The MI Server enables RoamerNet to automatically load and test, from a central location,
multiple SIM cards into geographically dispersed locations.
Subscribers to RoamerNet have secure Web-based access to information detailing the avail-
ability and quality of wireless communication services on a worldwide basis. In additional to
RoamerNet’s automated testing functions, service providers can also design and run their own
interactive tests on demand. RoamerNet currently covers 750 locations across 60 countries on
6 continents, and this can be easily expanded upon customer request.
RoamerNet utilizes the patented Casabyte RCATS solution, which enables automated testing,
centralized management and aggregated reporting for large numbers of deployed probes.
The solution allows wireless operators to access real-time, network-wide performance and
availability information, enabling them to use this information to increase service quality,
increase revenue and reduce costs.
Wireless operators face enormous pressure to attract and retain subscribers through new ser-
vice offerings and improved network quality. Casabyte, the leader in end-to-end service qual-
ity monitoring solutions for wireless networks, has specifically designed the turn-key RCATS
solutions for large-scale, operator-grade deployments worldwide.R
