Notes to the Monthly Operating Report
General Methodology
The financial statements and supplemental information contained herein are unaudited, preliminary, and may not
comply with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America ("U.S. GAAP") in all material
respects.
Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standards Codification 852, (Reorganizations) ("ASC 852"),
which is applicable to companies in chapter 11, requires that financial statements for periods after the filing of a
chapter 11 petition distinguish transactions and events that are directly associated with the reorganization from the
ongoing operations of the business. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with ASC 852. The
unaudited financial statements have been derived from the books and records of the Debtors. This information,
however, has not been subject to procedures that would typically be applied to financial information presented in
accordance with U.S. GAAP, and, upon application of such procedures, the Debtors believe that the financial
information could be subject to changes, and these changes could be material. The information furnished in this
report includes preliminary normal recurring adjustments but does not include all of the adjustments that would
typically be made in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
The results of operations contained herein are not necessarily indicative of results which may be expected from any
other period or for the full year and may not necessarily reflect the results of operations, financial position and cash
flows of the Debtors in the future.
The Debtors prepared this Monthly Operating Report relying primarily upon the information set forth in their books
and records. Consequently, certain transactions that are not identified in the normal course of business in the
Debtors’ books and records may not be included in this Monthly Operating Report. Nevertheless, in preparing this
Monthly Operating Report, the Debtors made best efforts to supplement the information set forth in their books and
records with additional information concerning transactions that may not have been identified therein.
Note 1
Note 2
The Monthly Operating Report is limited in scope, covers a limited time period, and has been prepared solely for the
purpose of complying with the reporting requirements of Rule 2015 of the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedures,
Bankruptcy Local Rules for the Southern District of Texas, and the Guidelines for Debtors-In Possession
promulgated by the Office of The United States Trustee for Region 7. The unaudited financial statements have been
derived from the books and records of the Debtors. The information presented herein has not been subject to all
procedures that would typically be applied to financial information presented in accordance with GAAP. Upon the
application of such procedures, the Debtors believe that the financial information could be subject to changes, and
these changes could be material. The information furnished in this Monthly Operating Report includes normal
recurring adjustments, but does not include all of the adjustments that would typically be made for interim financial
statements in accordance with GAAP.

Notes to the Monthly Operating Report
Reservation of Rights: Given the complexity of the Debtors’ business, inadvertent errors, omissions or over inclusion
of contracts or leases may have occurred. Accordingly, the Debtors hereby reserve all of their rights to dispute the
validity, status, enforceability, or executory nature of any claim amount, representation or other statement in this
Monthly Operating Report and reserve the right to amend or supplement this Monthly Operating Report, if necessary,
but shall be under no obligation to do so.
Due to rounding, there may be instances where the rows and columns do not sum up exactly to the total column.
Note 3
Liabilities Subject to Compromise: As a result of the chapter 11 filings, the payment of prepetition indebtedness is
subject to compromise or other treatment under a plan of reorganization. The determination of how liabilities will
ultimately be settled or treated cannot be made until the Bankruptcy Court approves a chapter 11 plan of
reorganization. Accordingly, the ultimate amount of such liabilities is not determinable at this time. ASC 852
requires prepetition liabilities that are subject to compromise to be reported at the amounts expected to be allowed as
claims, even if they may be settled for lesser amounts. The amounts currently classified as liabilities subject to
compromise are preliminary and may be subject to future adjustments depending on Court actions, further
developments with respect to disputed claims, determinations of the secured status of certain claims, the values of
any collateral securing such claims, rejection of executory contracts, continued reconciliation or other events.
Note 4
ASC 852 requires expenses and income directly associated with the chapter 11 filings to be reported separately in the
income statement as reorganization items. Reorganization items includes write off of discount, premium, debt
issuance costs, and derivatives associated with long-term debt, expenses related to legal advisory and representation
services, other professional consulting and advisory services, debtor-in-possession financing fees and changes in
liabilities subject to compromise recognized as there are changes in amounts expected to be allowed as claims.
Note 5
Note 6
Notes to MOR-2 & 3:B19+B8
(1) Financial statements are presented in accordance with reporting standards and methodology as used by GenOn
Energy, Inc. in its 10-Q and 10-K filings, such filings encompassing NRG REMA LLC and its debtor subsidiaries as
affiliates of GenOn Energy, Inc.
(2) Liabilities Subject to Compromise are presented in accordance with GAAP standards.
Note to MOR-1:
The "REVENUE", "INCOME BEFORE INT, DEPREC./TAX", and "NET INCOME (LOSS)" line items pertain to
the period of Oct. 1, 2018 through Oct. 31, 2018, as the Income Statement (MOR-6) relates to the entire month of
October.

Notes to the Monthly Operating Report
Note to MOR-8:
Note to Disbursements:
Disbursements include gross cash disbursements from Debtor entities to non-Debtor entities. Some of the line-items
in MOR-7 are netting receipts with disbursements. Examples include “Intercompany, net” as well as “Hedging /
Margin calls, net” and “Collateral postings”. Because of such netting, the total disbursements will not match what is
shown under “Total disbursements” in MOR-7.
Certain listed bank accounts have been excluded from the statement of direct cash flows (see notes to MOR-7).
Notes to MOR-7:
(1) The bank balances shown on MOR-7 only include active bank accounts that are available for immediate
disbursement. This excludes bank accounts that usually carry zero balances as well as adequate assurance and
escrow accounts and Keystone or Conemaugh operating accounts.
(2) MOR-7 does not reflect transactions from the Keystone or Conemaugh operating accounts. Payments made from
these accounts are made on behalf of other owners as a function of NRG REMA LLC's position as account operator.
REMA's portion of these payments are already captured by weekly cash calls, which appear in the "Fuel cost" line
item.
(3) The "Professional fees" line item only contains payments to "retained professionals". Payments to other
professionals are captured in the "Other disbursements" line item.
Intercompany Accounts Receivable are presented on a net basis, and include intercompany accounts payable offsets.
