Abscess in the Leg Muscle due to Foreign Body

43 years old male patient, abscess in the leg, recurrent many times in 2 years after accident. He was examined by X-Ray and ultrasound at five hospitals and surgery several times to diagnose leg abscess.Medic ultrasound detected an abscess in muscle and subcutaneous at behind the left leg with foreign body inside.Ultrasound had located foreign body before surgery. This is echogenic structure with strong shadowing, at the behind tibia and in front of posterior tibial vascular, 6mm from tibia and this vascular, 27mm from skin surface.

Punction of abscess removed opaque yellow fluid.Surgery was done, removed foreign body which was rubber sample.

Ultrasound at 3 weeks after surgery, found only a few of fluid in the subcutaneous layer, muscle layer completely normal. Lesion completely healed after 1 month.
