CASE HARDENING FURNACES

ALBAPLANT produces high quality case hardening in controlled atmosphere furnaces in

two different models –chamber furnaces e vertical pit furnaces.

Both models could be supplied with electrical or gas heating.

Typical applications include:

� Case hardening treatment

� Carbonitriding treatment

� Austenitizing treatment

� Quenching in oils or polimers, or in protective atmosphere

Chamber furnaces plants have got a frontal loading and unloading system,and furnaces

are normally included in automatic treatment lines.

For pit furnaces, loading and unloading stages are manually performed using cranes.

WHAT CASE HARDENING IS

Case hardening is a thermo chimical treatment which aims to an enrichment of carbon to

the steel surface.

Hardening process – automatically performed – allows to obtain a handwork that is hard

on the surface and tenacious in the inside.

Our plants could be supplied, upon request, with CQI9 Compliant control system.

CHAMBER FURNACES

Built in strong metallic carpentry – sheet

metal of high thickness and steel sections -

welded for a perfect gas-tightness and

assembled through flanging.

The refractory coating – of high insulating

power - of the heating chamber is realized

with iron-removed bricks and a silicon

carbide sole.

Radiant tubes are stainless steel made and

flanged on the top of the furnaces, thus to

allow an easy interchangeability.

Fans for the recirculation of the atmosphere

in the inside of the furnace are made from

refractory steel and benefit from a montage

system specially engineered in order to facilitate maintenance operations.

PIT FURNACES

Furnace built in strong carpentry in

cylindric steel sections.

The insulating coating is realised of

high insulating power.

The heating system consists of a series

of resistors placed for the whole height

of the furnace, or by a series of

burners.

Caldron in strong cylindric sheet metal

with a convex bottom, with a counter-

caldron inside; all the components are

stainless steel made, for the correct

recirculation of the atmosphere and for

the uniformity of temperature.

Cover insulated with ecological ceramic

fibre.

On the cover is mounted the fan with

the motor, of perfect thightness.

The uplift of the cover is expected to be performed through an hydraulic pusher,

integrated with the furnace; the lateral tilt of the cover is manual.

OUR KNOW HOW FOR CASE HARDENING AND CARBONITRIDING

The atmosphere present in the furnace is being continously campled for the whole duration

of the treatment; the advanced gas analysing and mixing system allows our automatic

program to set the potential fuel.

High repeatability of the process

Our furnaces are designed to operate automatically.

The processing of the lot is totally manageable from a computer.
