CASE STUDY: Bull Hotels
Hotels Bull tells us how our program NAVIHOTEL hotel management has given them the adaptability to
integrate new activities in the same application.
The hotel chain Bull Hotels is made up of a variety of hotels and
apartments distributed throughout the best areas of Gran Canaria,
Canary Islands, Spain.
Bull Hotels has established itself in the main island, Gran Canaria,
offering apartments and hotels at a good price and better quality.
They started in the 80s by acquiring what turned out to be the
flagship of the company, the Eugenia Victoria Hotel. Later on they
acquired the Astoria Hotel, the Reina Isabel Hotel (emblematic in
the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), the Escorial and the
Dorado Beach.
SITUATION Bull Hotels’ technological base was established, however it had the
need to diversify and widen, which they did during the last years,
thanks to the evolution of technology and the increasing needs for
access and treatment of technology. However, they still needed to
integrate the different areas of the business into one application,
thereby simplifying the management and staff mobility between
departments.
SOLUTION Bull Hotels has been linked to Microsoft Dynamics Navision since
almost always, starting with the “Character” version which run on
Novell servers, OS2 and Unix HP-9000, and later on with Navision
Financials for Windows environments. Front and POS were
management through ACI-HOTEL and ACI-REST applications for MS-
DOS.
The need to join all computer management in one setting was the
reason to get in touch with Sistemas de Gestion in the year 2002.
With Sistemas de Gestion they incorporated Finhotel (nowadays,
NAVIHOTEL), to the different hotels through a long and not
always easy process until they reached the integration of
information they now have.
BENEFITS With no doubts, having integrated in one application the entire
commercial and accounting areas of the company (except for
staff) facilitated the management of information and mobility of
workers in different scenarios of activity with easier adaptation
and training.
NAVIHOTEL has provided a solution for the integration of
information and the fluency of it among the different
departments of the company, from the productive centers to the
treatment in administration.
NAVIHOTEL allows directors to obtain an overview of the
integrated company results and also of the different business
units separately. Reports such as occupation statistics, forecasts
or income volume.
