Site: Open Cut Coal Mine (Bowen Basin) Application: Hold down bolts on P&H Electric shovel Original Set-Up: Four 1 1/2” UNC Hex bolts and Nuts tightened with flogging
spanner Issues Experienced: ● No Control of bolt load ● Difficult and confined location ● Alignment difficult due to movement of motor when tightening ● OH&S issues with the use of flogging Spanner Technofast Product Used: Standard high tensile EziTite

bolts Benefits Experienced: ● Easy installation and handling ● Removed the need for flogging spanner improving OH&S ● Precise bolt load achieved ● Alignment much easier Installation Time: Old Method = 2-3 hours (3-4 personnel) New Method = 1 hour (2 personnel) Includes Time to align motor Time Saving = minimum 1 hour Feedback Received: “Definite improvement to existing method, maintenance staff are
