SOLUTION Using Centercode, Tableau has been able to concentrate its efforts on bringing customer feedback into the picture earlier in product development. The time saved from having a single testing solution has allowed the beta team to support eight mainline products at any given moment, with an average of 30 new features being rolled out every quarter. In addition, Centercode’s single-pane view of direct correspondences between testers and the development team has made it easy to sort feedback, engage directly with testers, and prioritize which issues to take action on.

OVERVIEWBefore Centercode, Tableau tested new products using

various solutions and platforms. Users were recruited

from its CRM system and feedback was collected via

email and a Team Foundation Server (TFS) integration.

CHALLENGEWhile manageable in the short term, recruiting the

right testers and tracking participation proved to be

challenging over time. Additionally, Tableau’s processes

had high opportunity costs since time spent consolidating

data across tools halted beta program growth.

SOLUTIONUsing Centercode, Tableau has been able to concentrate

its efforts on bringing customer feedback into the

picture earlier in product development. The time saved

from having a single testing solution has allowed the

beta team to support eight mainline products at any

given moment, with an average of 30 new features

being rolled out every quarter. In addition, Centercode’s

single-pane view of direct correspondences between

testers and the development team has made it easy

to sort feedback, engage directly with testers, and

prioritize which issues to take action on.
