CASE STUDY: Hotel Cortes
Hotel Cortes tells us how they decided to go with Navihotel thanks to its international presence and
local support.
The hotel was built more than 50 years ago and belonged to the
hotel chain Hotusa, where Mr. Manuel Gonzalez Gomez was the
president. In 2002, Hotel Cortes detached from the hotel chain and
was turned into Mr. Gonzalez’s home, where he still lives today.
The hotel was renovated in 2003 but a part of the old Barcelona
wall was preserved at the reception.
Hotel Cortes a two star family hotel with 44 rooms and a maximum
occupancy of 72 people, is to be found in the heart of the city, near
to typical places of tourist interest.
It is located in the Gothic district, in the centre of Barcelona,
between Portal del Angel and Las Ramblas and 5m away from Plaza
Cataluña.
SITUATION Hotel Cortes did not have management software, everything was
done by hand. In 2002 the directors decided to search for a
computer system which would integrate hotel management with
accounting and NAVIHOTEL not only offered this, but also provided
facility when treating and analyzing data.
The references they had about NAVIHOTEL and Sistemas de
Gestion were the key towards deciding to initiate the project.
