Innovative Services Through Cutting-Edge Technology

using IMS Based Solution Implementation

Telecom | Hewlett-Packard

Through a complete portfolio of products and technology services, Hewlett-Packard offers its clients,

whether individual consumers or large companies, specific solutions tailored to their needs.

With the telecom industry experiencing a decrease in revenues and growing customer discontent with

inadequate telecom services, HP sought to develop a platform for the convergence of voice and data

services, in order to allow operators to offer new services and satisfy growing customer demands in a

shorter time and with reduced costs.

The Business Context

iQuest’s rigorous adoption

of standards, methods, and

its expertise and

commitment were key

factors in attaining good

results. All of this helped

Powerful personalisation and collaboration

options allow for maximum end-user experience

and satisfaction, through common customer

style guides and user-friendly configuration.

The solution provides cost effective calls and

enables secure and seamless communication

worldwide by migrating existing services to IP

telephony, inline with VoIP market conditions

and constraints, without impacting business

production efficiency or output. It addresses any

type of end-users, being appealing especially to

businesses and long-distance callers, due to

significantly decreased charges from traditional

calling.

The implementation of the new system allows

great flexibility. The client has the option to

influence the solution based on business and

market needs, easily offering and integrating

new services. It also offers users the possibility

to access the phone network outside of the

office, while at the same time being capable of

tracking calls and access to the office telephone

system.

The Business Impact

Telecom | Hewlett-Packard

Software Services Case Study

The goal was to integrate a new phone service

– VoIP with conventional fixed telephony and

mobile telephony systems, through IP

Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The service

allows its subscribers to use traditional mobile

phone services (voice and video calls, SMS,

MMS) from their PC, over any broadband

Internet connection, using their existing

mobile phone number.

The use of IMS technology offers the end user

a converged service experience over any type

of access medium, taking advantage of

features that the solution is putting together,

some of which include caller ID, call waiting, 3-

way calling, speed dialling, call forwarding, and

free voicemail.

iQuest provided software engineering services

for both the client application and server side

software. Out team of specialist was

responsible for the requirements

management, design, core engineering,

testing, maintenance, quality management, as

well as for continuous on-site support.

The Solution

Hewlett-Packard laid the foundation for new development

opportunities in order to introduce innovative products,

services and solutions which can satisfy immediate

customer needs.
