CONTEXT The customer approached Baryons with the need for creating an easily maintainable online repository of news articles, journals and other information of interest to businesses and general public. There was a need to integrate with the legacy authoring tools in use, to establish news feeds for any new in‐ house content generated. The required solution was proprietary. SOLUTION Baryons designed the content management solution with multiple user roles and content categorization. Content could be made available freely or sold/subscribed via an e‐ Commerce flow. Baryons interviewed users, documented and consolidated system requirements, and proposed multiple architecture options for with their pros and cons. A custom approach v/s Open Source based approaches were proposed and evaluated before settling on the custom approach to solution design. The custom approach was taken considering to the Customer’s in‐house skill sets and legacy infrastructure. HIGHLIGHTS The complete data migration for a decade worth of news was accomplished as part of the project. Seamless integration with legacy authoring systems to feed news articles directly into the Online Library.
