Helping Renholdssoner® Achieve One Common View with Franchise Software

Renholdssoner is committed to growth and strengthening its position as the market leader in Norway for delivery of systems to stop dirt and moisture. By deciding to implement the CCM platform by Chainformation, Renholdssoner could swiftly replace their franchise intranet and be better equipped to tackle its growth ambitions.

BackgroundPoor indoor air quality is primarily driven by dust, dirt and unwanted moisture. Headquartered in Rud, Norway, Renholdssoner was founded in 1995 with the mission to be the best in business at stopping dirt and moisture.

Renholdssoner has developed a fixed-carpet with unique abilities to stop most dirt and moisture from being transported into living and work areas. By removing dust and dirt more effectively than traditionally carpeted floors, their solution reduces bacteria and compounds, making the air significantly cleaner. The solution is recommended by NAAF because it helps to increase the quality of life for people with respiratory ailments.

The patented special carpet uses a textile coating made of 100% polyamide that stops and holds dirt and moisture effectively. The textile coating features a unique shape of fibres that provide a particularly aggressive brush effect when someone walks across.

The carpets are installed by certified installers, with all training being provided by Renholdssoner.

The Renholdssoner-solution is typically rented over a period of 12 months - 60 months which includes:

• Inspection• Carpet Banks for cleaning and maintenance • Sacks, brush lists and HEPA filter to carpet banks• The training of cleaning staff• Monitoring and control• Total guarantee of the cleaning zone during the rental period In 2013, the company has grown to an approximate turnover of 4530 MNOK (7,55 MUSD), 12 employees, and 16 certified installers.

Business ChallengeRenholdssoner is committed to growth and strengthening its position as the market leader in Norway for delivery of systems to stop dirt and moisture. As part of its growth strategy, Renholdssoner decided to franchise its operations in 2004.

As the business expanded, communications and franchise compliance were quickly becoming hot agenda items. But the existing intranet would hardly suffice as they decided to tackle the issue head on:

According to Dag Hognerud, CEO of Renholdssoner: “We already had a franchise intranet up and running but it was hugely ineffective and lacking in many areas. To be able to meet our growth goals, we needed a better way to share documentation, training, marketing assets across the franchise network.”

What’s more, Renholdssoner depends heavily on video to train staff and has an extensive library of training videos in place. As the franchise network grows, e-learning will becoming an increasingly important aspect to achieving business success.

Dag and his team agreed that the business needed a better communications platform that would help the company by:

• Bringing together communications into one single platform• Providing ability to store, share, and maintain manuals, documents, and assets in a one-stop platform• Providing a hub for all of its training and e-learning

As Renholdssoner considered its options; from building a new intranet from scratch, to setting up a SharePoint site, they soon realized they needed something franchise specific, built with a franchise business in mind.

Dag Hognerud first heard of Chainformation and CCM franchise software at an event where Anders Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at Chainformation, was one of the guest speakers. Chainformation has developed franchise software for twelve years, and has worked with some of Scandinavia’s largest franchise- and retail-chains, including Wayne’s Coffee, IC Company, Colorama and IKEA.

“We wanted to partner with some that would bring not only expertise in technical environments and system integration, but also bringing a deep understanding of the franchise industry. When I learnt about Chainformation and how their franchise software solution could improve communication and bring knowledge right to the franchisee, it just clicked”, says Dag Hognerud.

By deciding to implement the CCM platform by Chainformation, Renholdssoner could swiftly replace their franchise intranet and be better equipped to tackle its growth ambitions.

How the implementation was doneIn rolling out CCM with Renholdssoner, Chainformation was committed to designing, testing and implementing CCM with minimal disruptions to existing daily business.

Chainformation deployed a team of professionals who were involved in all aspects of project delivery, including a requirements-gathering workshop. Once the functional design was in place, the team worked quickly to get the CCM-platform and franchise intranet in place.

“Implementation of the CCM platform was extremely fast. We worked with Chainformation to customize the look and feel and a few days later we were up and running with a powerful Franchise intranet. The process took no more than a week,” says Dag.

Mission accomplishedEvery franchisee now has one single point of entry from which it can access operations manuals, training, communicate and cross-collaborate, while also receiving updates and news from the head office. Some of the key features include:

• A user friendly-interface for speedy publication of news and updates• Real-time access to operations manuals and other guidelines• A media asset manager that contains brand-compliant visual elements such as images, logos and document templates. By having a common view, every franchisee will be more empowered to act, communicate and build the business with confidence. For the head office, having a

proper franchise software platform in place provides the ability to secure brand compliance, depend less on e-mail and build a tighter organization.

As articles and content is made available in real-time, CCM also allows Renholdssoner to see if individual staff members have missed to take part of important documents or content.

“As we continue to expand in Norway and new markets, we will continue to work with Chainformation to align the CCM platform with our business objectives and creating useful tools for our staff. We are also considering bringing in our partners, suppliers and certified workers to the platform”, says Dag.

According to Anders Hall, Sales and Marketing Manager at Chainformation, “We are extremely excited to be partnering with Renholdssoner as their franchise network expands in Norway and other geographies. This is a great example of how our franchise software can implement in as little as one week and help deliver business critical knowledge across the chain.”
