You’ll find out where your clients’ liens fall in the lien priority pecking order. You’ll also learn strategies for positioning your clients so that they reap the most benefit. Using case scenarios to frame the issues, our experienced panel will lead you through the finer points of divesting liens and clarifying lien priority issues. When your clients are grappling with properties that are encumbered with multiple liens, bankruptcies, and foreclosures, you need to be ready to give them knowledgeable legal advice about: Mortgage foreclosures; Confessed judgments; Sheriff sales; Mechanics lien problems; Tax lien claims; A host of lien priority questions.

Millions of Americans enrolled in Medicare are also eligible for additional health care assistance programs such as Medicaid. If you are a practitioner in elder law and estate planning, and you don’t understand the new changes under Pennsylvania’s Community HealthChoices (CHC), a mandatory managed care program for dually eligible individuals and individuals with physical disabilities, it could be detrimental to your clients who need to access health care and long-term care. Examine Pennsylvania’s new Medical Assistance managed health care system, the parts of “basic” Medicare, enhancements such as Medigap Supplemental Plans, Medicare Advantage, and the Medicare Part D prescription drug program. Identify how to maximize the effectiveness of all these programs to cover the costs of quality medical care and prescription medications – without jeopardizing existing benefits.
