Module6provideshands-onexperienceindesigningandimplementingevidence-basedASIinterventionwithfidelitytothemethod.Throughcaseanalyses,participantsareguidedtodesigntheinterventionprogramandactivitiesbasedonanalysesoftheassessmentdataandconductdynamicassessmentwhileprovidingthoseinterventionstrategies.EmphasisisplacedonclinicalreasoningusingallstepsofDDDM,fromhypothesisgenerationtoworkingonproximalgoalstomeetrelevantdistaloutcomes.AmasterclinicianwilldemonstrateusinganASIapproachwithchildrenwhodemonstratesensoryintegrationdeficits.

TheTestAdministrationandScoringCheckwithPeeraimstoassistlearnersinrefiningtestadministrationandscoringcompetency,followingtrainingandpractice.TheTASCmaybeconductedinpersonorvirtually.Thefollowingprocessisfollowed:

• Suspectedproblemswithsensoryintegration-someindicationthattheparticipationchallenges
couldberelatedtoproblemsinsensoryintegration;diagnosessuchasautism,attentiondeficit
disorder,speechandlanguagedelaysorlearningdisabilitiesareoftengoodcandidates.
• Noothercomplicatingdiagnosis,suchascerebralpalsy,Downsyndrome,visualimpairment,
etc.
• Noorlittleinvention,especiallyinterventionthathasusedanAyresSensoryIntegration
approach.
• ReliabletestscoresincludingtheSIPTandvalidinterpretationofthosescores,leadingto
hypothesisgeneration,basedontheresearchrelatedtothepatternsofsensoryintegration
functionanddysfunction.
Recommended:
• Videofootagethatshowsthesensory,motororpraxischallengesduringperformanceis
recommended.
ThesecriteriaareestablishedforCase1sothatlearnerscanmostsuccessfullyadministerandscoreas
manytestsaspossibleandsothatidentificationofcommonsensoryintegrationpatternscanbemore
easilyseenintheinterpretationprocess.ThesecriteriadonotimplythattestssuchastheSIPTorthe
EASIcannotorshouldnotbeusedwithchildrenoutsidetheabovefeatures.Rather,learningto
administer,scoreandinterprettestscoreswithchildrenwhohavethesecriteriawillmakeiteasierto
