Designated Angler(s) on a Sportfish Tagging Research Trip with the Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation at the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. This is a trip like no other and a Bucket List trip for any angler! The winning bidder will get the RARE opportunity to be the designated angler(s) on a research trip tagging a variety of sportfish in the Gulf of Mexico with the research team of marine biologists from our friends at the Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation at the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. This team is highly experienced and carries out a variety of fish-tagging research in the Gulf of Mexico. Two (2) anglers will help collect and tag sportfish such as Red Snapper and Cobia/Ling onboard the team’s 36-foot Yellowfin research vessel. This is exciting and unique all-day trip (typically lasting 8AM-12PM) will depart from Port Aransas, Texas and take you 40 to 60 miles offshore into the Gulf of Mexico. Winchester 12-gauge model 1897. Also known as a model 97 or trench gun, this historic firearm was made in 1907. That's right, it’s 113 years old and is the model used during World War I. One of its primary uses was to clear out trenches, with the first man over the top firing until empty followed by a tommy gunner stepping up to spray. This piece of history can be slam fired by simply holding the trigger while pumping. This firearm is fully functional but requires only light loads in modern ammunition. No steel shot.
