Ways to open Book Shelf

1. Start or restart the Book Wizard program.

2. In the File menu, choose Open Book

3. In the toolbar, use the Open Book tool

Highlight the book, then click OPEN.

ViewsWhen Book Wizard Reader

opens a book, it opens all the views (windows) the book offers. The available views depend upon how the book was constructed.

A DAISY book may have 1-4 of the available windows:

1.Audio

2.Braille

3.Contents

4.Text

Read a bookTo read text, click the Play

button in the toolbar. (F5 is the keyboard shortcut for Play)

To stop the reading, click the Stop button. (F4 is the keyboard shortcut for Stop)

Press the Space bar once to Play, again to Stop.

Navigate with Contents windowMost DAISY books have a

table of contents.

Branches open and close by clicking on the plus and minus boxes.

Navigate to any section of the book by clicking on the chapter or section.

Remember: each DAISY book may have different information in the Contents window.

Navigate using Go To page

To quickly and easily navigate to a specific page in the book, press the “g” key on your keyboard.

In the GoTo Page window, type the page in the box, then click the OK button:

Navigation from the MenuIF your DAISY book is constructed with these elements,

you may be able to navigate forward or backward by Units, Chapters or pages:

Try with each book to see if this navigation is available

Prior and Next moves by Element (Unit, Chapter, Section, etc.)

Level Down/Up changes the element (from chapter to section, etc.)

Removing books

To completely remove a book from your computer, highlight it in the Books window, then click Delete Book

To remove a book from your book list, but keep it on your computer, , highlight the path to that book, then click Remove Path. Title will disappear from Books window.

RFB&D AuthorizationYou must purchase a Key Authorization from

Recordings for Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) in order to read their books using Book Wizard Reader.

Once you purchase the key, Book Wizard will be authorized to open and read RFB&D books.
