It’s that time of year again, people are cleaning out clos-ets, garages and sheds as spring comes to the West Koote-nay.Te Brent Kennedy PAC is inviting all spring cleanersto our annual Children’s Market fundraiser on Saturday,April 16, from 9 am to 12 noon, 1092 Highway 6, Cres-cent Valley.

Families gather in our school gym and bring all theirgently used or new family related items and sell them ina huge garage sale style gathering. We open the doors tothe community to browse and purchase items from infantgear and toys, to bigger kid toys, books, clothes, bikesand scooters, sports equipment, camping gear and evenoutdoor play structures. It’s reducing, reusing and recy-cling in a ne form. We are also inviting family friendlyhome businesses to join in the event, giving them a ter-ric opportunity to showcase their wares and allow thecommunity to support local home businesses.

We have a few tables lef in the market and would loveto have new faces ll those spots. Every space is $10 andyou are welcome to have as many spaces as you like. Eachspace comes with a six foot banquet style table and twochairs. We can arrange oor space for anyone with largeritems.

Looking for some great deals? Come on down and dosome shopping. Doors open at 9 am sharp, absolutelyno early birds and there is always a line up to start theday. Boots In The KootsFireghters in Robson continue to ex their fundrais-

ing muscles by lling their boots for Muscular Dystrophy

Canada.Te volunteer re department raised a whopping$6517 for the organization on Saturday, March 19.

“I’m so proud of our amazing group,” said Jeff Grant, Chiefof the Robson Volunteer Fire Department. “For a commu-nity of our size to create results like we did is nothing shortof incredible. Not only did it feel good doing it, but we con-tinued to build on what are truly outstanding benchmarks.”

In 2014, the department raised $6200, a feat which gar-nered the team the Up and Coming Fire Hall of the Year

Award at Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s annual conference.

Te following year the team surpassed that amount byraising $6400. “From executing calls like the professionalswe are, to taking training deadly serious, to recognizingour little community of Robson, we can make a big diff er-ence if we just decide to do it,” said Grant.
