    vehicle code regulations.

    Welcome to Caswell Memorial StatePark, a small, wild refuge in the midstof the great Central Valley of California.Located six miles southwest of Ripon, thisunique state park protects one of the lastremaining oak-riparian woodlands thatonce ourished throughout the valley.

    The Stanislaus River meanders throughthe park, with beaches and swimmingareas near the parks day-use andcampground facilities (no lifeguard serviceavailable). Valley temperatures reach thehigh 90s in the summer, but the parksshaded camping and picnic areas areoften 10 degrees cooler. Family andgroup picnic facilities are available.

    Fishing is popular here, as many species

    thrive in the slow-moving, muddy-bottomed river. Some of the sh specieswere introduced from the eastern UnitedStates in years past. Summertime shingyields largemouth, smallmouth and stripedbass, bullhead, sturgeon, bluegill, catsh,shad and buffalo carp.

    Explore the park by walking the trails thatmeander through the majestic oak forest

    and along the Stanislaus River. A trail mapis available at the ranger station.

    PLEASE REMEMBER

    Each campsite is limited to eight

    people and two licensed vehicles.

    All vehicles must stay on designated

    roadways.

    All vehicles and drivers must be

    licensed. Campground speed limit is

    15 mph.

    Dogs must be leashed at all times,

    and in a tent or vehicle at night.

    Please clean up

    after your pet.

    Loud noise

    and music are

    prohibited at all

    times. Quiet hours

    are between

    10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

    Generators may

    be operated only

    between 10 a.m.

    and 8 p.m.

    Firearms, bows

    and arrows, etc.

    are not permitted.

    Campsites are vulnerable

    to theft at any time.

    Secure your valuables

    and equipment, and

    report any suspicious

    activity.

    Check-out is noon.

    Check-in is 2 p.m.
