WarrantyBalluff products are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship as follows:Standard lifetime warranty for inductive sensors and magnetically operated sensors sold to the original user. Standard 2-year warranty from the date of shipment for photoelectric, capacitive sensors, read-write ID systems, magnetostrictive transducers*, connectors and cables, electromechanical limit and rotary switches, and all products with electromechanical relays sold to the original user. Balluff will repair or replace at our discretion, without charge, any unit which fails because of defective workmanship or material, during this guarantee period and which is returned to Balluff transportation prepaid. This guarantee will not apply if, in the judgement of Balluff, damage or failure has resulted from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, or operation on an incorrect power supply. This guarantee expressly does not include any other costs such as the cost of removal of the defective part, installation, labor or consequential damages of any kind. AC 2-Wire Tubular SensorsNon-Contact Sensing of Metal Targets In this section youll find a wide variety of inductive proximity sensors, including smooth and threaded tubular styles, block styles, weld field immune electronics, impact-resistant steel sensing faces, miniature housings, versions with extended sensing range, high-pressure types, and other specialty application variants. Inductive sensors are intended for non-contact detection of metallic targets at ranges generally under 50mm (2 inches). Based on the eddy current sensing principle, inductive proximity sensors emit an alternating electro-magnetic sensing field. When a metal target enters the sensing field, eddy currents are induced in the target, reducing the signal amplitude and triggering a change of state at the sensor output. Advantages of inductive proximity sensors include insensitivity to water, oil, dirt, non-metallic particles, target color, or target surface finish, and the ability to withstand high shock and vibration environments.

This device can be connected to any Balluff 010V analog sensor (inductive, photoelectric, BIL) and provides three integrated switching outputs. Analog sensors provide a signal which is proportional to the target distance from the sensor face. However, many applications also require a switching signal at certain points along the full range. The three switching outputs are programmed using a teach-in procedure by holding a target in postion and momentarily connecting the control line to the supply. This programs the digital output for that point. A total of three outputs are programmable. In addition to the three digital outputs, a 0-10 V analog signal is also provided. An LED for each output indicates the switching state of that output. Remote systems allow the transfer of signals to a controller through an air gap without the need for physical contact.
