BlueWater’s textile manufacturing roots began with a

family owned cotton-spinning mill five generations ago in

1903. Founded in 1969 and still family owned, BlueWater

was the first manufacturer of kernmantle style synthetic

ropes for caving. Following these first ropes, BlueWater

designed and manufactured the first commercially avail-

able ropes specifically for use by fire/rescue profession-

als. In 1982 BlueWater produced the first American

made UIAA Certified mountaineering ropes available to

Dynamic Ropes

We’ve also raised the bar for dryness and ropelongevity with our Double-Dry™ treatment. It is ap-plied to each individual fiber in the sheath andcore. Double-Dry allows just 11% water absorption(compared to the standard 20% to 30%) so yourrope remains light and flexible under adverse con-ditions. BlueWater II

The rope that made us famous, BlueWater II Plus is an evo-lution of our original caving rope first made in 1969. De-signed to have excellent handling and knotability underextreme circumstances. Each of the 16 polyester sheathstrands is essentially a small three strand rope giving youthe edge for abrasion and cut resistance, especially underloads. The nylon core strands are the same as our standardSafeLine rescue ropes. Each core strand is individuallytwisted into a small three strand rope before the sheath isbraided over them. This design elongates in the event of ac-cidental shock (impact) loading, absorbing energy and pro-viding a greater margin of safety in the entire system. It alsogives unparalleled and predictable handling characteris-tics. 7/16 inch diameter only is CE, UIAA certified and ULClassified to meet NFPA 1983/2006 edition, Light use.

The original low visibility, low elongation/static rope. As-saultLine is designed specifically for military, tactical andother applications where low visibility is required. Safeline

SafeLine features a 16 carrier polyester sheath braided over twisted nylon core strands. This unique bal-ance of sheath and core produces a rope with exceptional handling characteristics and resistance toabrasion. Designed to elongate, in the event of accidental shock (impact) loading, to absorb energy andreduce risk to the rescuer. The polyester sheath offers a higher melting point as well as better UV andchemical resistance than does nylon. 5/8 inch and 1/2 inch are UL Classified to NFPA 1983/2006 edi-tion General use. 3/8 inch and 7/16 inch are UL Classified to NFPA 1983/2006 edition Light use. ArmorTech

Arashield® technology is a new concept in rope design. ArmorTech is the ideal rope for high heat situ-ations such as welding or confined space entry where there exists the possibility of a flash fire or con-tact with a hot surface or welding slag. This unique, one of a kind, double sheath design also hasexcellent cut resistant properties. Constructed by braiding a 100% Technora sheath (decompositiontemperature greater than 900° F!) over our 3/8 inch SafeLine model (polyester sheath/nylon core). 1/2inch is UL Classified to NFPA 1983/2006 edition General use. R3™ River Rescue Rope

Manufactured from 100% polypropylene for maximumbuoyancy. This rope will float high in the water unlikeblended ropes. Our R3 premium River Rescue Ropes fea-ture a highly visible yellow sheath braided over a strandedpolypropylene core. It’s designed for use on rafts or anyplace an emergency water rescue line is needed.

Sure-Grip™

Another innovative, original design by BlueWater. TheSure-Grip series of ropes allow a better grip by alter-nating the size of the sheath strands. This is especiallyhelpful when the rescuer is wearing gloves and/ or in in-clement weather. The 9.5mm NFPA version has abraided Dyneema fiber core that gives the rope a hightensile strength and more cut resistance thanpolypropylene core strands. 7.5mm Hybrid PER

A unique design originated by BlueWater, it features50% Technora® aramid and 50% fluorescent or-ange polyester sheath strands braided over a nyloncore. This offers three distinct advantages: highervisibility in low light or smoky conditions, it is moreeconomically priced than 100% aramid sheath con-structions and the polyester strands discolor withheat. A slimmer version of our workhorse 10.5mm GymLine rope. The 10.3 Gymline LE hasa completely redesigned core to allow for better handling characteristics and reducestiffening with age and use. Polyester sheath, nylon core. 32 carrier braid sheath. Gymline LE is NOT intended nor is it suitable for lead climbing. Tensile strength 6500lbf. Available in 100 and 200m spools.

10.5mm GymLine LE (low elongation)

Specifically designed for top-roping applications, the Gymline LE is hard-wearing andlong lasting with no compromises. This rope is manufactured using solution dyed poly-ester in the sheath and nylon in the core. It undergoes a unique specialized manufac-turing process which gives it the ability to maintain flexibility without the excess sheathslippage associated with other ropes of this type. 10.6mm DynaGym

This durable, long lasting dynamic rope is CE and UIAA certified to with-stand the punishment of indoor climbing walls. Rope UseTake special care to protect your rope from abrasion. This damage occurs most often whenyour rope comes into contact with rough or sharp edges of equipment. Man made structures,such as buildings or towers, pose a high risk for damaging or cutting ropes. Always use a ropepad between the rope and surfaces with which the rope may come in contact.Avoid stepping on your rope and keep your rope clean. A ground cloth should be used to keepthe rope from being in direct contact with dirt or grit. Dirt and grit will shorten the life of yourrope. Wash your rope occasionally in cold water with small amounts of BW Rope Wash or mildsoap only. Rinse the rope in several baths of clean cold water to remove all soap residue. Therope must be air dried by loosely coiling and hanging away from direct sunlight or other heatsources. Do not use bleach or bleach substitutes! Keep rope away from open flame and hightemperatures. Carry and store the rope so it is protected against ultraviolet light (including sun-light), chemicals, acids, alkalis, flame and high temperatures.Always use proper rappelling and belaying techniques. Fast rappels, bounding or swinging,positioning the rope over a sharp edge, dynamically loading a low elongation/static rope aresome example of uses which damage your rope and/or cause failure.

Records are to be maintained by the purchaser or user of any rope including purchase date,serial number and sales receipt. An inspection record is to be kept including date of each use,location of use, conditions of use (weather, training, rescue), pre and post use inspection andthe Inspectors name. BlueWater provides a rope log with each rope purchased for the con-venience of the end user. An electronic file of a BW rope log can also be obtained from thedownload section of our website at www.bluewaterropes.com, suitable for printing. Maintainthe original product labels. If they are removed to be retained in a permanent rope record, in-sure copies are made and kept with the rope for the benefit of the end user. If there is ever aquestion as to the safety of any equipment, remove from service, have it examined by a qual-ified examiner or destroy to prevent further use.
