CORREOS is the perfect travelling companion for pilgrims, dealing with their needs to send luggage, bicycles, souvenirs, etc.

CORREOS is present along the French Way, the Primitive Way, the Portuguese Way from Tui, the English Way, the Northern Way, the Winter Way, the South-East Way (Vía de la Plata) and the Way to Fisterra... with over 100 post office branches to meet pilgrims’ needs.

At those branches, the pilgrims can stamp their Credentials, arrange the

PAQ MOCHILA CORREOS can ship their luggage.

PAQ BICICLETA Correos can ship their bicycles before and after walking the Way.

PAQ PEREGRINO pilgrims can send their suitcases, equipment and shopping.

In Santiago, CORREOS has a service point at the PILGRIMS’ OFFICE and at its main branch located in Rúa do Franco, around 150 metres from the cathedral where lef-lug-gage services are also provided.

SHIPPING BACKPACKS AND LUGGAGE CORREOS provides the backpack and suitcase shipment service, thus pilgrims do not have to carry so much weight. It has several products which conform to different needs:

PAQ MOCHiLA: SHIPPING BACKPACKS AND LUGGAGE BETWEEN DIFFERENT STAGES

For pilgrims who prefer walking without carrying their backpacks, CORREOS ships the backpacks between the different stages of most of the Ways of St James:

PAQ MOCHILA FIVE STAGES OR MORE: with just one phone call or email, and from 4 euros per stage, CORREOS organises the shipment of the backpacks and suitcases during the stages of the Way of St James (a minimum of five stages). With this service, pilgrims do not have to worry about calling every day to request the shipment. CORREOS will allocate a unique code to each luggage so that it can be identified, monitored and controlled.

PAQ MOCHILA A SINGLE STAGE: Pilgrims can also arrange the shipment of their luggage during a single stage for 5 euros (based on the usual stages on foot).

The backpack and suitcase shipment service is provided in the French Way from Ron-cesvalles, in the Portuguese Way from Tui, in the Primitive Way from Oviedo, in the Northern Way from Muros de Nalón (Asturias), in the English Way from Ferrol and in the Way to Fisterra. Check availability for the other routes.

These services can be arranged by visiting any CORREOS branch along the Way of St James or the website, www.elcaminoconcorreos.es, or sending an email to mimochi-la@correos.com or calling 606618341 (from 08:30h to 22:00h, also via WhatsApp).

SHIPPING LUGGAGE TO THE PLACE WHERE THE PILGRIMS FINISH THE WAYWith the PAQ PEREGRINO, pilgrims can send their suitcase or backpack to the hostel, hotel or CORREOS branch where they have decided to finish the Way so that they can collect their luggage on arrival.

The pilgrims can arrange this shipment before starting the Way from any of the more than 2,300 CORREOS branches. If they decide to send their luggage to the post office branch in Santiago or any other branches, CORREOS will keep it for 15 days. Once that period elapses, the luggage is taken to the left-luggage service, which will cost 1 euro per day.

The price for shipping these suitcases is as follows: • Suitcases weighing up to 15 kg: 16.67 euros, including VAT. • Suitcases weighing between 15 kg and 25 kg: 27.07 euros, including VAT.

PAQ BICICLETAFor the pilgrims who decide to do the Way on bicycle, CO-RREOS has a bicycle shipment service for 42.07 euros within the Peninsula (including VAT, special packaging and insu-rance coverage of 300 euros). The price for shipping the bi-cycles to the Balearic Islands, Ceuta or Melilla is 54.88 euros and, to the Canary Islands, 70.19 euros.

The pilgrims can arrange CORREOS’ PAQ BICICLETA

1. CORREOS can send their bicycle to the place where they will start the Way. The bicycles can be shipped to the hostel or hotel where the pilgrims will stay and to any CORREOS branch along the Way.CORREOS will keep them for 15 days (from day 16, we will charge 3 euros per day for storage).

2. CORREOS can return their bicycle once the pilgrims reach Santiago or any other place where they decide to end the Way. In Santiago,CORREOS has a post office branch in Rúa do Franco (around 150 metres from the cathe-dral), from where the bicycles can be shipped.

PAQ PEREGRINOCORREOS has the PAQ PEREGRINO to enable pilgrims to ship suitcases, backpacks, parcels with personal items, shopping or gifts. It has been designed to meet pilgrims’ shipment needs before, during and after the Way.

If pilgrims want to send their PAQ PEREGRINO to any CORREOS branch along the Way so they can collect it on arrival, we will keep it up to 15 days free of charge. From day 16 on, we will charge 1 euro per day for storage. If pilgrims change their mind and do not finish the Way where they have decided, they can recover their PAQ PEREGRINO by contacting the branch.

1.PAQ PEREGRINO to ship suitcases to the place where pilgrims will finish the Way so they can collect them there on arrival. This service can be arranged at any CORREOS branch for 16.67 euros for suitcases weighing up to 15 kg and 27.07 euros for suit-cases weighing between 15 kg and 25 kg.

2.PAQ PEREGRINO to ship the things that the pilgrims do not need to carry in their backpacks any more: spare clothes, shoes, etc., either going back home or to the hotel, hostel or the CORREOS branch where they finish the Way. **

3.PAQ PEREGRINO to ship any typical items or souvenirs bought by the pilgrims along the Way so they do not have to carry them. **

**To facilitate the last two shipments, CORREOS has a list of “friendly” stores and hostels which have our prepaid 1 kg, 3 kg and 7 kg packages therefore pilgrims can directly send their packages without having to go to a post office branch.

LEFT- LUGGAGE SERVICESince Santiago Cathedral does not allow backpacks, the CORREOS branch in Santiago de Compostela, around 150 metres from the cathedral, provides a left-luggage service thus pilgrims can keep their belongings there and enter the temple.

STAMPING CREDENTIALSThe CORREOS branches along the Way are new points where the Credential can be stamped. CORREOS’ postmarks have made and continue to make history, they are va-lued by stamp collectors and, placed on the Credential, they provide originality to the journey and stamping of this document to certify the route that entitles the pilgrims to obtain the Compostela.

If pilgrims want to have more historical value in their Credential, CORREOS’ stamps can be placed in the boxes and our special postmarks of the Way can be used; this will certify the date and place where they passed.

PILGRIMAGE SERVICE IN SANTIAGOCORREOS has two pilgrimage service points in Santiago de Compostela: at the PIL-GRIMS’ OFFICE itself and at its main branch located in Rúa do Franco, around 150 metres from the cathedral, where it also has a left-luggage service.

At those offices, the pilgrims can carry out the following:

Ship their backpack, bicycle, walking stick, etc.

Ship their shopping or gift items.

Ship their Compostela Credential to avoid losing or damaging it.

Ship the distance certificate obtained at the pilgrimage office.

Buy post-paid postcards and stamps.

PREPAID PACKING PAQ PEREGRINO

Prepaid packing of 1 kg (delivery in 24/48 hours), 3-7 kg (delivery in 48/72 hours). Thus, personal items, shopping, etc can be sent home, hotels, hostels or Correos Post Office. In case of being sent to a Correos branch it will be kept for 15 days, from day 16 on 1 euro per day will be charged.
