BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION FIELD

Magnetic Mallet is the most innovative surgical device able to improve working standards in sinus lift and split crest practice. Thanks to Magnetic Mallet the sinus lift and the split crest come out more defined and less invasive for the patient, while the surgeon can operate in an easier and faster way. Magnetic Mallet assures a higher comfort for both patient and surgeon.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE USE

The Magnetic Mallet exploits an electro-magnetic, electronically operated collision between two masses allowing to get a high intensity impact applied in a very short timing; all that permits you to get an elastic wave followed by a quantity of motion which expresses itself in an inelastic shock wave on the bone.We should take into consideration that the plastic deformation is a structural phenomenon peculiar to the great majority of matters which is due to specific forces applied in fixed time. That’s why, according to the applied force and to its application time, the molecular flowing can be improved or not.

Meta Ergonomica designed a magneto-dynamical handpiece, energized by a control unit, delivering preconceived forces by timing of application. The magnetic wave and the subsequent shock wave are modulated regarding the timing of application of the force and induce axial and radial movements applied on the tip of osteotome .The osteotome is firmly hooked up to the instrument and the application time of the force is the best one to achieve the desired plastic deformation. The device is designed to apply four forces of different strength, from the lighter one (force number 1) to the stronger one (force number 4).

Nevertheless it is important to know that the whole spectrum of forces has a very close progressive range. That’s why they can be considered all suitable for surgery practice. Anyhow it’s entirely up to the surgeon to determine the most suitable force to be applied according to the operation he wants to carry out.

NOVELTY FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES OF OUR MAGNETIC MALLET

Avoid that applied forces influence the whole craniofacial mass.

No more problems of distress for the patient causing dizziness, vertigo, nausea (BPPV) due to the displacement of the otoliths in the inner ear.

Be more defined in osteotome entry direction and directionality. Thanks to our device you can avoid all deviation in osteotomes directionality caused by the difference in the density of the different parts of the bone .

Get a better visibility in the surgery practice thanks to the possibility to use just one hand.

Obtain a more rapid path to recovery for the patient.

Limit the bone milling. You will be able to create a site for the implant just using osteotomes in sequence of diameters.

Get a better access to the inner part of maxilla (grinders) and to the lower jaw thanks to the osteotome in the axial double-bended version (supplied with the Magnetic Mallet on request). In this way lower jaw ridge expansion could be now available.

Easily insert the titanium implant thanks to our implant housing (supplied with the Magnetic Mallet in standard supply).The implant housing is an indent in which you can position the titanium implant and then coming along with its insertion. The subsequent screwing on will be greatly helped.

Simplify the split crest practice and abutment / root extraction thanks to the special cutters supplied with the device. Those specific instruments have been designed to improve and simplify the split crest practice.

The whole range of osteotomes (except for beaver and extractor) are laser marked to show the differences in depth.This will make easier the check during the surgery practice.

The accessory on request Crown Remover handpiece can be considered a further evolution of the Magnetic Mallet appliance and it’s designed to remove crowns and bridges.

The handpiece, which can be sterilized by autoclave, can be coupled to the power supply through the same connector entry used for the osteotome handpiece.

The handpiece working is the same as the osteotome handpiece, but the power is applied in reverse mode and it’s conveying a modulated pulse which is adjusted according to the selected power supply force (1-4).

If we compare the force applied by the Magnetic Mallet, to remove the crown or the bridge, to the one applied by the manual practice we could get a triple force which is expressed in highly reduced timing. In fact by the manual practice you can get a force applied in thousandth seconds, while with Magnetic Mallet you can achieve a higher force applied in millionth seconds.

This will allow you to achieve the deformation and the breaking of the retention cement with the consequent loosening of the crown or bridge to be removed.

The manual practice, irrespective of the practitioner’s ability, is always more complex and more traumatic for the patient.

It will always be up to the surgeon to verify the feasibility of the surgery with the Crown Remover handpiece in relation to the abutment fragility.

The Crown Remover handpiece is supplied in its suitcase including a dedicated container with three hooks which can be sterilized by autoclave.
