CEMENT TILES

I am very pleased to introduce you our Cement Tile Catalog for 2009.

The Cement tile first appears in the market in Viviers, South of France in 1850, very close to the first French cement plant.

The technical and aesthetic qualities of the cement tile make it a premium high segment material. Cement tile was used by the great architects to create lasting art in special palaces, buildings and residences.

The origins of Dongtam (already 40 years) are very closely related to the cement tile history. Although our activities and products have developed to include ceramic and porce-lain tiles, paint and sanitary ware, the Cement Tile remains the Pride of Dongtam.

The present catalog only shows some suggestions and ideas. In any way it is exhaustive. Completely hand-made by our artisans, we regularly produce special series and unique models for our clients.

Designers and Artisans are welcome to work with our Craftsmen to create your own personal collection for your home or business. Tours can be arranged to allow you to personally observe your collection being hand crafted.

C’est avec beaucoup de plaisir que je vous présente le nouveau catalogue 2009 des Carreaux Ciment Dong-tam.

Le carreau de ciment est apparu pour la première fois à Viviers en Ardèche, proche de la première cimenterie française en 1850.

Les qualités techniques et esthétiques du carreau de ciment en ont fait très vite un matériau de choix. L’histoire de la société Dongtam, 40 ans déjà, est intimement liée à l’histoire du carreau de ciment. Bien que nos activités se soient régulièrement développées (céramiques, grès cérame, porcelaine, peintures et sani-taires), le carreau de ciment reste et restera la fierté, la « carte de visite » de Dongtam.

Ce nouveau catalogue ne présente que quelques sugges-tions et idées. Il n’est en aucun cas exhaustif. Entière-ment faits à la main par nos ouvrières artisanes, nous réalisons régulièrement des séries spéciales et modèles uniques pour nos clients, restaurateurs et architectes.

Nous sommes fiers de partager avec vous cet unique équilibre de tradition Franco-Vietnamienne.
