Tekasil T
• Highly elastic sealant. • More easily extracted mass. • Less pressure required on the dosing machines. • This is a certified product.
Packing: sausage: 600 ml bucket: 20 l barrel: 200 l
It is a single-component silicone sealant. This product has the lowest density of all Tekasil T sealants. Tekasil T is most useful for the manufacture of insulating glass exposed to vibrations (buses, trains).
These are permanently elastic single- or two-component silicone-based sealants. They are intended for manufacture of insulating glass and gas-filled insulating glass as a secondary sealant. We recommend them in the manufacture of insulating glass under higher temperature and UV load (for glass facades, buses, trains, roof windows …). Tekasil T has excellent adhesion to various types of glass (finished and unfinished), plastic and metal spacers. They are compatible with all other TKK materials used for the manufacture of insulating glass. They are UV-stable and resistant to various weather conditions, water and moisture. Do not contain solvents. Do not cause corrosion. The advantage of single-component sealants are lower costs of application equipment. The advantage of two-component sealants is the shorter curing time.

TIPSfor use of TKK sealants in the construction of insulating glass
Two-component sealants
• We recommend storage of sealants in a close room, at a temperature between 15–25 ºC.
• If the sealant is stored at a temperature below 10 ºC, we suggest that you relocate it to a warmer room at least two days before use.
• The lower the material temperature, the higher the viscosity, which consequently implies harder handling of the material. This may lead to lower workability of the sealant.
• The increase in temperature of the sealant or its environment shortens the setting time, and vice versa: the decrease in temperature of the sealant or its environment extends the setting and hardening time.
• Prior to application of the sealant, you need to ensure that the surfaces are clean (glass, aluminum, stainless steel etc.).
• To ensure the quality of thermal insulation glass, we recommend sealant quality control during the manufacture in conformity with the standard DIN EN 1279, part 6: adhesion of sealant to the glass and spacer, mixing proportion, mixing homogeneity.
• During the work breaks longer than 10 minutes we recommend leaving the dosing gun and the static mixer in a freezer, below –25˚ C. The cooled material contained in the gun and the statistic mixer should be thrown away upon continuation of work.
• During the longer work breaks, e.g. at the end of the week, we recommend cleaning the gun and the static mixer with A component. If we fail to do that, problems might occur in the operation of the dosing and mixing device in the static mixer.
• We recommend use of the cleaning agent Tekafin Cleaner 5 for the cleaning of static mixer and gun.
Plasto elastic sealants based on polyisobutilen – Butmelt
One-component silicone based sealants
• Recommended heating temperature on the dosing device is 135–145 °C.
• Butmelt cools down faster at a lower ambient temperature. It is therefore important to construct the insulating glass as quickly as possible after the application of Bultmelt on the structure.
• Curing of single-component sealants depends on air humidity and temperature. Low humidity percentage in the air and low temperatures (usual winter conditions) cause slower setting of silicone and vice versa.
• The surface area we are sealing must be solid, clean, dust and grease free. We should remove all detached and poorly fastened parts.
• If we want the opening to be worked nicely, the edges of the opening are to be lined with adhesive tape.
• For levelling of the silicone we recommend using the TKK Trowel.
• We should clean the fresh material and tools with the cleaning agent Tekafin Cleaner 5.
