Catalonia Road Bike Tour2 Hotels - Roses and Gerona – 7 days – 5 stages

PROGRAMMEDay 1. Welcome Your guide will welcome you at the hotel and give you all the information you need about the routesand the region.

Day 2. Roses – Perelada – Sant Pere de Rodes – Port de la Selva – Roses

Both groups start at the hotel in Roses and we cycle together until the small village of Vilajuïga, through vineyards, olive groves, medieval villages and rolling fields. We visit a bodega for some wine tasting on our way.

• Group 1: 58 km; acc. Climb:450m . Once in Vilajuïga, this group will cycle back to Roses.

• Group 2: 85 km, acc. Climb: 780m This group will climb the col of Sant Pere de Rodes,where we have the opportunity to visit the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes withspectacular views of the Costa Brava and France. From here we have a marvellousdescent into the town of Port de la Selva before starting another climbing to arrive back atRoses.

Day 3. Roses – Figueres – Agullana – Cantallops – Roses

The two groups will start at the hotel in Roses and will cycle together until Figueres, Dalí`s birth place.

• Group 1: 50 km; acc climb: 192m. Once in Figueres, this group will come cycle back toRoses, via secondary, light traffic roads.

• Group 2: 110 km; 495m. This group will continue from Figueres towards France. We cyclealong country roads with views over the beautiful landscape of the Pyrenees, the Empordaregion and Cap de Creus. This loop ride has no big hills and the tranquility of this area andits roads makes this a very enjoyable route.

Day 4: Girona - Tossa de Mar – Girona: 100km; Acc climb: 1683m

This is undoubtedly one of the most stunning routes of Europe. We ride out of the center ofGerona and head towards the beautiful Costa Brava coast via Sant Grau, a demanding climb thatwas part of the Tour of France 2009. After summitting Sant Grau, we start an unforgettabel descentwith spectacular views. The descent leads us to one of the most stunning roads to cycle in Europe,meandering along the rugged Costa Brava. We then head back inwards via one short and onelonger and more demanding climb to return to Gerona.

Day 5: Girona – Olot – Girona: 108 km; Acc climb: 1200m

No famous climbs today but another gem of a tour through stunning landscape. We cycle alonglight traffic roads into the tranquility of the Garrotxa region, where diedout volcanoes and pristinecork oak forests dominate the landscape. The locals love this route for its natural and culturalbeauty! A total of 1200m accumulated climbing.

Day 6. Girona - Els Ángels - Les Gavarres – Girona: 58 km; Acc climb: 1000m

Today, we will climb two of the most famous hills in Girona: “Els Angels” and the “Hincapie Hill”.These are not the most difficult of climbs so they are perfect to start the holiday. We cycle throughbeautiful forest and along villages where time stood still.

Day 7: Departure

Departure day and transfer to Barcelona or Girona airport.
