CATHARINE OF SIENA CHURCH COLUMBUS, OH
From the Pastor…
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus:
FunFest!
I wish to thank all of you for another successful parish festival! It was a time of food, fun and fellowship! A big thank-you goes to the FunFest Committee and all the volunteers for all their hard work and many months of preparation! I’m already excited for next year!
Thank you Chris Schleicher!
I would like to inform you that Chris Schleicher, our Director of PSR and RCIA, is retiring from her position here. I wish to thank her for her many years of service to Christ and His Church! She had undoubtedly helped many hearts and souls enter into a deeper relationship with Christ. I offered to host a reception for her, but, out of her generous heart, she stated that she would rather see those funds go to a charity called Good Counsel Homes, an organization which provides safe shelter and all the essentials for young single pregnant women who have nowhere to turn.
I wish to share with you that I have hired Tim Magree to take over in the role as Director of Children’s Faith Formation. Tim will also be our new music teacher in our grade school. Tim graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and is an excellent pianist! You may even sometimes see him playing at The Top Restaurant! Welcome, Tim!
Statue of St. Catharine
A while back we raised funds in order to have a statue of our patroness, St. Catharine of Siena, installed outside our church. I’m happy to let you know that the statue is complete and will be installed this week! I will bless the statue following the 11:00 a.m. Mass Sunday, June 25. Please join us as we venerate and ask for the prayers of St. Catharine!
May God reward you,
Fr. Dury
