Features:

The MPS Cathodic Protection (CP) Monitoring and Test Kit is easily used by vessel owners or Marine Electricians alike to check the potential for corrosion (cathodic performance).

The CP 411 digital measuring device can provide the user with accurate mV potential readings for the submerged metal fittings and drive parts on their vessel. Users can then interpret the results to identify any corrective action to prevent ongoing corrosion.

Product Code: MPS-CP411

Use the test meter on the Vessel Bonding System to display evidence of Free Corrosion or vulnerability to corrosion. The detailed instruction booklet included contains information to help you work through this process.

Maintenance Instructions:

User Guide: Interpreting the Data:For full instructions see the product packaging or visit us on the web.

Unplug the shore power. For most accurate results also disconnect the on board batteries. Testing within a 24 hour period of disconnection may alter your readings.

Attach the BNC adapter, sensing probe and test electrode to the test meter.

Switch the unit on. Press function to reach mV reading screen.

Remove the protective wetting cap from the electrode and lower in to the water over the centre of the transom to a similar height to the propeller. Ensure that it is not in contact with any metal.

With the unit and sensing probe in hand, systematically touch the probe on any and all metal Through Hull Fittings or parts from inside the bottom of the hull. Record the results.

To test and record the performance of an individual metal, first disconnect it from the Vessel Bonding System.

Use only clean, dry and uncoated touch points for the probe. Use the booklet provided to interpret the data and determine your optimal cathodic protection level.

For optimal performance the mV potential of your anode should be at least -200mV but not more than -300mV more negative than the highest negative metal value recorded.

The MPS CP Monitoring and Test Kit should be stored in a secure dry place.

Before use, inspect the test lead, electrode and sensing probe for any damage.

After use, refill the test electrode cap with tap water. Coil the test lead neatly, do not fold or stretch the lead.

Secure in case using the foam and fastening strap provided.

Further installation and warranty instructions can be obtained from the MPS website.
