St Therese Summer Festival

The next weekend (26 & 27 August) is our Parish Festival. Thank God there is a lot of optimism in the Community.

After 5 meetings with the Pro-Festival Committee, we can say that the Team is ready for an excellent performance.

Each one of you is an important piece for the Festival to be a beautiful parish sharing party. The Parish is a family united by the bonds of faith. Faith in Christ unites us beyond our

cultural differences. In a family, dialogue and interest in the needs of all members is very important. At the Festival we

will have the opportunity to share our faith, the typical dish-es, music and our friendship. Please during this week be

messengers of this news. There will be lots of fun, games for kids and great opportunities to win in the raffle of the three big prizes (one thousand dollars, 60”TV and Xbox). Support the princesses by buying votes and we will know soon who will be the Queen of the Festival. She will also win her sol-

emn Quinceañera Mass.

Finally, I thank all the families and the Organizing Commit-tee for their goodwill and their decision to participate. The

funds obtained will be used for the expansion of the parking lot. Let's keep optimism alive for our Festival! Many bless-

Festival de Verano de Santa Teresita

El próximo fin de semana (26 & 27 Agosto) es nuestro Festival Parroquial. Gracias a Dios hay mucho optimismo en la Comunidad. Después de 5 reuniones con el Comité Pro-Festival, podemos decir que el Equipo está listo para una excelente actuación. Cada uno de ustedes es una pie-za importante para que el Festival sea una bonita fiesta

de compartir parroquial. La Parroquia es una familia uni-da por los lazos de la fe. La fe en Cristo nos une más allá de nuestras diferencias culturales. En una familia es bien

importante el diálogo y el interés de las necesidades de todos los miembros. En el Festival tendremos la oportu-

nidad de compartir nuestra fe, los platillos típicos, la mú-sica y nuestra amistad. Por favor durante esta semana

sean mensajeros de esta noticia. Habrá mucha diversión, juegos para niños y grandes oportunidades de ganar en la

tómbola y la rifa de los tres grandes premios (Mil dóla-res, TV 60' y Xbox). Apoyen a las princesas comprando

votos y sabremos pronto quién será la Reina del Festival. Ella ganará además su misa solemne de Quinceañera.

Finalmente, les agradezco a todas las familias y al Comité organizador, por su buena voluntad y decisión que han tomado en participar. Los fondos obtenidos serán desti-nados a la ampliación del parking. Mantengamos vivo el

optimismo por nuestro Festival! Muchas bendiciones para todos. Nos vemos el próximo fin de semana.

Good-bye for now...

As I wrote last weekend, this is my last weekend

here at the parish, before going back to the seminary in Ore-

gon. It’s bittersweet to be leaving another summer behind,

filled with memories and mostly new experiences. But, we go

on into a new academic year trusting in God’s mercy and

having faith that we’re never alone. Please pray for me, and

as always I pray for you!

I share with you again a prayer that guides me and

hopefully will guide you too:

“Nothing is more practical than

finding God, than falling in Love

in a quite absolute, final way.

What you are in love with,

what seizes your imagination, will affect every-

thing.

It will decide what will get you out of bed in the

morning, what you do with your evenings,

how you spend your weekends,

what you read, whom you know,

Adiós. . . pero por un rato!

Como escribí la semana pasada, este es mi último fin de

semana aquí en la parroquia antes que me regrese al semi-

nario en Oregón. Es agridulce dejar otro verano lleno de me-

morias y muchas nuevas experiencias. Pero vamos entran-

do a un nuevo año escolar confiando que vamos a experi-

mentar la misericordia de Dios y teniendo fe que nunca esta-

mos solos. Por favor recen por mi, y como siempre los llevo

en mis oraciones!

Comparto con ustedes otra vez una oración que

siempre me guía y ojala los guiara también:

“No hay nada más práctico que encontrar a Dios. Es decir, enamorarse totalmente y sin ver atrás. Aquello de lo que te enamores, lo que arrebate tu imaginación, afectará todo. Determinará lo que te haga levantar por la maña-na, lo que harás con tus atardeceres, cómo pases tus fines de semana, lo que leas, a quien conozcas, lo que te rompa el corazón, y lo que te llene de asombro con alegría y agrade-cimiento.
