February 4, 2018 ** FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME **

The 19th annual Miami Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women's Scholarship Luncheon, benefitting the MACCW Scholarship Fund,

will take place Saturday, Feb. 24, at 11:30 a.m.

at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 1100 S.E. 17th St., Fort Lauderdale.

This year's honoree will be Richard P. Jean, principal

of Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches. Since its inception, the MACCW Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $248,000 to

57 girls attending eighth grade in a local Catholic school, to help them continue their education in a

Catholic high school. Tickets are $50/person ($55 after Feb. 15).

To donate or sponsor a table, call 305-469-3515 or email [email protected].

"Tithing" is giving back to God the first and best 10% of all we receive. That means each and every Sunday we should offer 5% of our weekly income for needs of The Cathe-dral through our envelopes. The Bible speaks clearly on the command to tithe as a sign of belonging to God and a response to God's Generosity to us. 1-2% of our annual income should be of-fered through ABCD starting each Janu-ary. The other 2-4% of our resources may be given to other worthy charities our charitable causes. It's good to make a budget and bring our Faith to the calcula-tion. 10% is a real number.

Our goal for 2018 is:

108,000.00

Welcome! Archbishop Thomas Wenski

Saturday, February 24th at 5:30 PM

Celebrant Fr. Christopher Marino

“That only Christ gives meaning to the whole of our life. He

always kept the eyes of his life and of his heart fixed on

Christ. In this way, he understood that Christianity is not an

intellectual system, a packet of dogmas, a moralism.

Christianity is rather an encounter, a love story; it is an

event.” Homily of Cardinal Ratzinger on funeral
