Dear parishioners, come join us at the
Missionaries of Charity Shelter, 724 N.W. 17 Street,
every 3rd Sunday of the month to cook for and feed the homeless men of Miami. Don’t miss this beautiful
opportunity to serve God by serving the poor.
The shelter opens for the
volunteers at 7:30 am but they don’t start serving food to the
homeless until 9:30am. There is a second food service
at 10:30 am and a third at 11:30am.
Those volunteers that get to the shelter in the morning help pre-
pare and serve the food during the first service.
You are welcomed to come at any time or day of the week.
The shelter is closed on Thursdays.
If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact me,

Help us spread the Joy of the Gospel!
Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands of people are baptized into the Catholic
Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
For more than 50 years St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and School has welcomed people
to celebrate our Christian faith in a Spirit filled community.
In September we will once again be offering
classes for children and adults who are considering joining the Catholic Church. Classes are designed
to learn about the faith and at the same time discover what it means to have a relationship with a
loving God who gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, so we could have life in abundance.
We are also offering Religious Education for
children and adults who are Catholics and would like to complete their Sacraments of Christian
Initiation and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ in a Parish family.
Invite friends, co-workers, or neighbors to
experience the Catholic Faith by participating in one of our Sunday Masses or any of the events we
have throughout the year.
To find out more information about these classes please call the Parish Office at
305-665-5600 or 305-665-6862, or visit our website: www.stamiami.org.
Evangelization is a call for all the baptized!
bautizados!

Weekday Mass Schedule
This year we are keeping the following schedule for weekday Masses during the whole year 8:00 AM – English & 7:00 PM – Spanish
These are some of the nearby parishes that offer early Mass:
Church of the Little Flower: 6:15 a.m.
St. Louis Church: 6:30 a.m.
Church of the Epiphany: 6:30 a.m.
O God, in your providential design you willed that your Church be built upon blessed Peter, whom you set over the other Apostles. Look with favor, we pray, on Francis our Pope as he prepares for his Pastoral Visit to the United States. May his visit to our country and to this National Shrine be for your people a visible source and foundation of unity in faith and of communion. May we be inspired by the joy of the Gospel to live our mission of love for God and neighbor, caring especially for those who are most in need. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Vocations Office
More and more young men are seeking a profound relationship with Jesus Christ and are considering the possibility that they may be called by God to embrace a vocation to the diocesan priesthood. Vocation Awareness Weekend is a retreat
for men ages 17-35 who are seeking more information about the priesthood and seminary life. It is held on the grounds of St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami and consists of numerous workshops, liturgies, and social events with the
seminarians. Participants will have ample time to ask questions, gain an understanding of seminary life and prayerfully consider God's call. The next
Vocations Awareness Weekend will be held Nov. 6-8, 2015. If you would like to attend, please contact your parish priest or the Vocation Director, Father Elvis
Gonzalez at [email protected] or by calling 305-762-1137. You may also find a registration form on our website at www.miamiarch.org/vocations.
