Project: Distillery

1. IntroductionThis test approach document will outline the appropriate strategies, process, workflows and methodologies used for testing my fictional project. Ideally, my introduction will provide the overview of the project and the strategy, a high level list of deliverables, I would include a list of acronyms commonly used if they were too many to list hopefully I would point to a reference document stored in the company repository (Confluence, Sharepoint, a drive, etc)

1.1 ObjectivesThe objectives section of the test plan, I would describe the testing I want to accomplish. For my Distillery project I want to test the function of the new inventory system that will be implemented. I will describe the tasks and responsibilities, our communication or reports, and that this document is primarily my service contract with the PMO and the End User Community.

2. ScopeThe Scope section of my test plan describes what will be tested and what is out of scope for the test team. I would discuss the interfaces used, what my procedures where for notifying the key people, my schedule and what my expected turnaround is from people who support testing (Requirements or development)

3. Testing StrategyThe Testing Strategy I write describes the different phases of testing we would include. It’s my overall approach. I will describe each type of testing, list the activities, techniques and tools used by each group. I will also talk about the features tested. I would also discuss the methodology used if needed and not predetermined.

We would also discuss defect creation and reporting, We would hopefully decide and list here who the correct resources where for Point of Contact for questions, defect assignments, and reporting status.
