Beijing, China providing second-to-none Directional Drilling and Completion Services,

4. People
Cavaviller is the most important asset within Cavaville. The Multidisciplinary Team of
Cavaville mainly consists of Professionals and Scientists majored in Geology, Geophysics,
Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Control
Engineering. Most peers have working experience in world-renowned enterprises such as
Halliburton, Shell, Schlumberger, Total, CNOOC, CNPC and Sinopec, which delivered them
with international outlook, experience and strength. More than 80% Cavaviller owns BSc,
MSc and PhD degrees. An Elite Think Tank is formed by well-known experts and professors
including Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Engineering.
5. R&D
Cavaville takes R&D and Innovation as its priority. Since 2009, the average budget for R&D
accounts for 15% of revenue every year. Cavaville owns 31 patents and 18 Software IPs.
Cavaville keeps close cooperation with Dalian University of Technology, China University
of Petroleum, Northeast Petroleum University, Yangtze University and other 4 institutions, as
well as 6 overseas companies, mainly focus on downhole tools and instrument for Drilling,
Completion, and Integrated Well Solutions (IWS™) as well as joint establishment of

II. Company Performance
In recent 3 years, Cavaville has completed more than 570 directional and horizontal wells,
incl. 45 SAGD parallel Hz well pairs (90 Hz wells), 42 HT HP wells, 5 pinnate wells with up
to 20 laterals per main hole. The maximum TD is 7511m, the highest BHT is 167 °C, and the
maximum ratio of displacement to TVD is 5.6:1. Cavaville has completed 12 Frac Hz Wells
with 97 stages, provided 9 executive EP programs for 5 oil fields located in Mongolia,
Cameroon, Uzbekistan and China.
Cavaville is currently providing Directional Drilling, Completion and IWS™ services in
China, Mongolia, the United States, Canada, Venezuela, Ecuador, Cameroon and
Uzbekistan.

1. Directional Drilling and Completion
1.1 Drilling Program Design
With advanced drilling design and operation software as well as experienced drilling
engineers, geologists and reservoir engineers, Cavaville takes many factors into
consideration such as drilling, completion, reservoir, geology, production, tubular and
formation protection to design executive drilling program.
1.2 Directional Drilling Services
Based on its 60+ experienced and well-trained Directional Drillers and MWD Engineers,
together with its strong Product Lines, Cavaville can provide second-to-none directional
drilling services and accurate positioning in various types of directional wells such as ERD,
Re-entry, Multi-Laterals, Horizontal, Pinnate and SAGD Parallel Horizontal Pairs.
Thanks to its People, Q/HSSE, Management, Second-to-None Services and Best-in-Class
Products, Cavaville has broken scores of records in past 3 years. Below are some records:
Well HH12P*** in Erodes, Northern China: it took 3 days to complete the 850m Horizontal
Section, which needs 8+ days on average.
Well Ha1*** in Tarim Basin, West China: This deep well with 6960mTD and BHT of
167 °C is completed 20 days ahead of planned time
Well Qi*** in Tarim Basin, West China with 7511m TD, BHT 156°C and 16.3°/30m DLS is
completed 12 days in advance.

1.3 Multi-Laterals
Cavaville owns Intellectual Properties in retrievable whipstock, tie-back, sealing and re-entry
system for Multi-lateral junctions.
1.4 Re-entry and Sidetracking
Cavaville and its team has completed more than 300 re-entry and sidetracking wells in
5-1/2”, 7”, 9-5/8” casing holes by using its own exclusive designed whipstock and window
open tools.
1.5 M/LWD and MWP™ Service
Besides its own MWD manufacturing, repair and maintenance facility, Cavaville owns
scores of imported HTHP Gamma MWDs rated up to 175℃ and 25000 Psi. Cavaville’s
patented MWP™ system has completed 45 pairs (90 wells) of SAGD Hz Wells since 2011.
2. Channel Technologies
On the basis of self-developed Multi-Stage Fracturing Tools, downhole tools for CT
workover, washing and N2 cleanup, together with imported Radial Jetting technology and
Frac Plugs, Cavaville is trying to take a leading role in the development of Unconventional
Resources, incl. tight gas, shale oil, shale gas and CBM
2.1 Radial Jetting
Radial Jetting uses high pressure fluid to jet up to 4 slim holes with up to 100m in length at
the same depth. It can break through the wellbore formation damage area to develop the
residual oil or improve water injection in depleted reservoir. Compared to conventional
stimulation technology, it advantages in low operation cost with high efficiency.

2.2 Multi-Stage Fracturing Technologies for Horizontal wells
Cavaville owns Hydraulic Jetting Frac (HJF), Frac Plug Perforation (FPP) and Sliding
Sleeve Fracturing Technologies (BSF, SSP and SSC) for Horizontal Wells.
2.2.1 Sliding Sleeve Fracturing Technology
Cavaville has three types of Multi-stage Fracturing Technologies for Horizontal Wells, incl.
Ball-set Mulit-stage Frac Tools (BSF), Switch Slide Sleeve with Open Hole Packer Frac
Tools (SSP), Switch Slide Sleeve for Cemented Hz wells (SSC).

2.2.2 Hydraulic Jetting Fracturing Technology (HJF)
HJF is a Stimulation integrated with perforation, fracturing and isolation. The specific jetting
tools produce high-speed fluids to jet into casing and rocks, forming slim holes or cracks.

Based on HJF, a new CT Annulus Sandblast Perforation Multi-stage Fracturing Tool has
been developed for cased and cemented Hz wells. It can minimize sand plug by reverse
circulating and it is characterized with its high-efficiency in operations.
2.2.3 Frac Plug Fracturing Technology (FPP)
By using its own perforation tools, together with imported the most reliable Frac Plug,
Cavaville has completed scores of FPP jobs since 2011.
2.3 Hydraulic Slotting Technology
Hydraulic Slotting Technology is particularly suitable for wells which fracture acidizing

stimulation cannot be implemented upon because of bad cementation quality and adjacent
water layer.
3. Expansion Casing Patching (ECP)
ECP is joint-developed and has been applied for more than 120 wells, which proves to be an
effective casing repair technology. The yield strength of repaired casing can reach 25-30
MPa.

4. Unconventional Resources Development
4.1 Shale Gas
Cavaville has cooperated with 2 enterprises in North America which have experienced in
developing shale gas and introduced related technology and equipment into China. Cavaville
provides formation evaluation, development programs, well placement, drilling and
completion design and multi-stage fracturing services for the development of shale gas.
4.2 CBM
Cavaville has completed several evaluation and exploration programs for CBM in Qinshui
Basin, Shanxi, Hancheng, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Liaoning. And more than 20 cavity or
pinnate wells has been done since 2010.

4.2.1 Optimal Drilling Design
Cavaville’s elite CBM team has the capacity to design optimal drilling and completion
program based on customers’ requirements, formation condition and type of coal seams.
4.2.2 Completion for Pinnate wells – Screens
Cavaville developed new plastic screens to complete CBM pinnate wells, which can solve
pump problem due to fine coal ash and help to improve borehole stability. The plastic screen
is easy to be pulled out, which is very useful for those CBM wells to extract gas first then
mine the coal seams.

Cavaville has experienced geological and geophysical experts who are excellent in
conventional processing, target processing, merging processing and PSTM&PSDM
processing of the seismic data acquired from complicated geological structure area and under

Cavaville makes its own gamma MWD and develops Directional Measurement Unit (DMU).

1.2 Cementing Tools
1.2.1 Two-stage Cementer
Cavaville provides CES-MSC-A mechanical and CES-HSC-A hydraulic two-stage
cementers.
(1) CES-MSC-A Mechanical Two-stage Cementer and its accessories
CES-MSC-A Mechanical Two-stage Cementer is inner-closure structure. All parts are made
of rubber plug and aluminum alloy materials with good drillability.
(2) CES-HSC-A Hydraulic Two-stage Cementer
CES-HSC-A Hydraulic Two-stage Cementer is inner-closure structure too. It opens the
Circulation Outlet by pressure difference. The Circulation Outlet can be closed by Closing
Piston.

1.2.2 Liner Hanger
Four types of Liner Hanger can be provided: CES-DYX-A, CES-SYX-A, CES-SSX-A and
CES-XGS-A.
(1) CES-DYX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger
CES-DYX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger is single-cone & single-row slip structure. After
injecting balls from the wellhead, the high pressure liquid drives the piston and rod to move
up, then the slip locks between the cone and casing.
(2) CES-SYX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger
CES-SYX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger is double-cone & double-row slip structure. After
injecting balls from the wellhead, the high pressure liquid drives the piston and rod
ascending with slip and then the slip lock tighten between the cone and outer casing.
(3) CES-SSX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger
CES-SSX-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger is double-cone, double cylinder and double-row slip
structure. After injecting balls from the wellhead, the high pressure liquid drives the piston
and rod ascending with slip and then the slip lock tighten between the cone and outer casing.
(4) CES-XGS-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger

CES-XGS-A Hydraulic Liner Hanger is single-cone & single-row slip structure. After
injecting balls from the wellhead, the high pressure liquid drives the piston and rod
ascending with slip and then the slip lock tighten between the cone and outer casing.
(5) Running Tool
The running tool can run in Liner Hanger to set depth. After finishing the cementing, it can
be released and pulled out of hole.
1.2.3 Centralizer
(1) Elastic Centralizer
It is CES-DCT casing centralizer. High strength
spring steel is utilized to support the casing, make
the casing centralized in wellbore and improve
cementing quality.

It is CES-GFZ rigid centralizer and capable of making
the casing centralized in wellbore and improve
cementing quality.

1.3 Switch Slide Sleeve Multi-Staged Fracturing Tool
The Switch Slide Sleeve Multi-Staged Fracturing Tool developed by Cavaville is featured by
its superior performance with balance compensation function. It provides a circulating
passage which can be opened or closed selectively for the casing, tubing and annulus.
Adopting three stage design (close – balance – open), it can use standard wireline (vertical
well) or coiled tubing to switch repeatedly.
Technical Feature:
1. Big sealing flow area, which is bigger than the size of the tubing flow area;
2. On all the positions including closed, balance, open, etc., the sealing element cannot
contact with the formation fluid, which is always under the protection of the sealing
surface;
3. The scraping ring can improve the working environment of slide sleeves sealing;
4. Effective composite material sealing with long operating life;
5. Small operating force, switch easily.

The MTBF of stator and rotor is above 10000 hours. For bearing assembly of 178mm and

2.2 Negative Pressure Pulse Tool (NPP)
NPP is designed on the basis of the principle that turbine stator and rotor is taken as the
power source to drive a planar valve, which can instantly interrupt or connect high-speed
fluids, then a negative pressure pulse is subsequently generated under the valve, and the
negative pressure pulse can be amplified and intensified by applying Helmholz resonator.
The tool integrates the advantages of rock breaking by hydraulic impact jetting and local
underbalanced rock breaking, which greatly enhances the drilling efficiency and the
migration effect of downhole cuttings. The average rate of penetration (ROP) is improved by
15-50% compared to that of normal pulse jet flow.
2.3 Oscillating Hammer
Oscillating hammer is characterized by its hydraulic incentive mechanical vibration
mechanism, which has circumferential vibration and axial vibration. Circumferential
vibration is stimulated by the impact force that is produced by the eccentric vortex of the
conjugating sealing process of the stator and the rotor, axial vibration is induced by the
hydraulic harmonic wave.

1) Reducing the drill string friction.

Oscillating Hammer Performance Parameter
2.4 Motor Impactor
Motor impactor is powered by mud motor, which can create and transmit high frequent
impact force. Motor impactor can induce the BHA to make benign vibration, overcome drag
and friction, rotate and break the rock through impact force, thereof improve ROP.

1) No negative influence on the MWD systems.
2) Applicable for all kinds of drilling fluid, including air and Nitrogen system
(Multiphase flow system)
3) No limitation to the pump rate.

Motor Impactor Performance Parameter
2.5 Shock Antifriction Generator
When cooperated with Oscillating hammer, it can produce 3D vibration movement. When
Oscillating hammer’s pressure pulse work on the pressure-bearing surface of Shock
Antifriction Generator, the mandrel of Shock Antifriction Generator transmits the pressure
pulse into mechanical motion, thus complete the vibration. Shock Antifriction Generator can
effectively reduce the friction of the BHA with steering motor, improve the WOB
transmission, thus improve the max drilling depth and Tool Face controllability, reduce
downhole vibration, and improve ROP.
