Pharmapack 2010 expanded exhibition hall will bring together over 200 leading suppliers presenting their lastest innovations for pharmaceutical packaging and medical devices. Here are the new equipments showcased by CB AUTOMATION, HEKUMA and STAUBLI. CB AUTOMATION An equipment dedicated to the assembly and the dose control of pharma valves The equipment realised by CB Automation (division of Bettinelli F.lli S.p.A) further to guarantee the correct assembly of the pharmaceutical valve, detects the valve dose value by analysing the air pressure ongoing in the time (control time less then 0,4 sec.). The dose control system, developed inside the Bettinelli group, is produced and commercialised by HCS and it is composed by a couple of mechanic heads (one for “air input” and one for “air receipt”), pressure transducers and electronic cards for data acquisition. A light pressure is previously created in the transducer chamber due to the compression of the receipt head gasket. This preliminary operation is carried out to check the leakage of all the upper circuit. Afterwards an upper cylinder “opens” the valve and let enter in the receipt head exactly the air volume consisting in the valve dose. This air input creates a pressure increment in the receipt head, directly proportional to the dose volume. The pressure ongoing is visualised by a chart on a PC. The control parameters (time on X axis and pressure on y axis) allow the identification of the valve dose volume and the discrimination of the not compliant valves. The control system calibration is realised by means of certified gauges. The system PC automatically records all the control results for each valve tested Booth : C13 HEKUMA A lighter and faster robot for 100% quality control for the production of pipette tips Hekuma has developed an advanced automation line for the production of pipette tips with a cycle time of less than 5 seconds. Due to its latest drive technology and innovative, weight-optimized take-out gripper, the Hekuma side entry robot has a maximum acceleration of more than 9G. The mold open time is approximately 0.45 sec. Thus, product cycle times of 4.9 sec. and less are possible. Essential parts of the clean room compatible take-out gripper are milled in one piece out of a solid block of aluminium. This means a weight reduction of 30% without compromising rigidity and long-term stability. The system is designed in the cost saving concept "machine as clean room", avoiding in many cases expensive clean room environments, as the automation system is a clean room in itself. By means of efficient picture processing systems, which check each single pipette tip regarding the precision of the outer and inner diameter, Hekuma reaches 100% quality control. Hekuma 's take-out technology, in combination with two independent testing methods, ensures that absolutely all parts are taken out of each cavity. Compared to classic PLC-based visualizations, Hekuma 's latest PC-based solution offers a Booth : D30
