In the 2001-2002 Academic Year, the School of Engineering submitted a proposal to the Assisi Foundation of Memphis. The Foundation has granted almost $2M for engineering lab equipment. The equipment has been acquired since 2003 and will continue to 2005. The Foundation also has committed about $600,000 toward the renovation cost of the engineering lab building, Saint Benilde Hall. CBU has also committed an additional $400,000 to complete the renovation. The renovation began in April 2003 and was completed in September 2003. The implementation of this grant provides a state-of-the-art engineering lab facility for undergraduate engineering education at CBU. Each laboratory in newly renovated Saint Benilde Hall has a generous supply of power outlets as well as gigaspeed network connections. Lighting and environmental issues have been carefully addressed to ensure that students will have a functional and pleasant educational environment. Assisi Equipment Budget Table 1 below shows equipment budget from the Assisi Grant.
