P L A N N I N G P R O C E S SOur in-house Environmental Planning and Sustainability Team are recognised as industry experts with significant experience in all facets of solar farm planning, from initial appraisals through to compliance monitoring on operational sites. We employ a thorough
assessment process for each site, drawing on local knowledge from communities and specialists to develop detailed planning applications and environmental assessments. The key stages of our process include:
SiteAssessment
Our sites are thoroughly assessed before selection (including constraints mapping and
site visits) before deciding on whether to proceed with a project.
Environmental Assessment
Relevant independent technical experts are engaged to thoroughly
assess potential impacts and identify mitigation or avoidance measures.
Stakeholder Engagement
We inform and consult with local communities and stakeholders, and tailor our designs and management plans to address feedback received.
Planning ApplicationWe coordinate the preparation and
submission of planning and environmental permit applications, liaising with the relevant decision-making authority to ensure prompt
responses to any queries or requests for additional information.
Post-ApprovalFollowing approval of a planning permission, our team prepares
detailed summaries of the various planning obligations
to be adhered to during construction and operation.
Post ConstructionOnce our solar farms are complete,
we visit each site to assess compliance with our planning and environmental
permits and prepare a punch or snagging list of any remedial items
that need to be completed.
OperationWe are on-call for our Asset
Management team to address any planning matters and help monitor
ongoing environmental survey requirements where relevant.

We take great pride in engaging with local communities, not just during the planning and development of our projects, but throughout the lifetime of our solar farms. As well as hosting open days and guided tours for residents, schools and local groups, we have also assisted several higher education students and ecologists with biodiversity research projects by providing access to our sites.
Given the passive nature of solar farms, it is quite safe for us to conduct guided tours. As such, our projects
can provide an excellent educational resource for communities wanting to learn more about solar power
on their doorstep. We have undertaken several visits to our operational solar farms for schools, universities, local
councils and various community groups.
