Morning sessions use formal presentations

Afternoon breakouts are smaller and use flip charts

The organizational structure –

Chairman chosen by prior chair with input from key associates

Evolved to “Chairmans Council” – most of which are with CCIF since the beginning – committed and passionate for long term success (direct feedback/dialogue with Chair)


Advisory Council

Established using the format designed at the beginning – ( former steering committee)

Each industry segment/stakeholder represented – regional mix through Associations and others – all stakeholder groups represented


Committee chairs (volunteered/commandeered)-Built the committee teams (volunteers)-Normally the committee is “national” – together ongoing – -Responsible for the topic – gathering information- determining focus and action – presenting back results – managing breakouts to gather local flavour – implementing items when appropriate.

AdministratorPurpose of the Administrator – permanent thread to make the meetings happen – Coordinate all activity that happens prior, during and post meeting including promotion, registrations, funding, web site management, facilitate activity between chairman and committees -Works closely with the Chairman and Chairmans council – key decision makingBody -


How it functions – this is not an association – only participants – limited structure and accountability when compared with the normal formalities of trade associations or other structured bodies.

Built on the CIC model – to ensure neutrality and objectivity – all parties stand equal – have voice – not control -

Anyone who is associated with the automotive aftermarket can attend and participate – voice opinion, get engaged -

CIC model adapted in 1999

Independent contractor to provide all components of the meeting organization – responsible for promoting and filling the room.

All physical aspects of meeting – room, av, food, etc.

Communications to all – web site etc.
