ANNUAL REPORT
LETTER FROM THE DIRECTORDear Friends,
As we look back on 2016, we are incredibly thankful for the generosity, volunteerism and passion of the Greater Cincinnati Community. From kindergarten students competing in the Queen City Classic Chess Tournament, to an 89 year old woman who volunteers her time in helping set up for the Pink Ribbon Luncheon, the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund (CCPF) is a multipurpose organization encompassing community members of all walks of life. As I reflect on the year, I wanted to share with you some of our favorite moments.
CCPF kicked off the year with the 15th Annual Queen City Classic (QCC) Chess Tournament on March 11th-12th. Real-life stars of Disney’s film, Queen of Katwe travelled all the way from Uganda for the QCC. Phiona Mutesi and her chess coach, Robert Katende shared their story of how chess changed their lives forever. Queen of Katwe was released in September 2016. Robert and Phiona’s story illustrates that chess has no boundaries but has the power to change lives, something CCPF strives for on a local level. Through CCPF Chess in Schools programs, we are now teaching chess in 30 schools for over 60 hours per week to approximately 1500 students on a weekly basis!
The ProScan Pink Ribbon Centers are not only catering to women who need an annual mammogram and men who need an ultrasound, but are serving both male and female patients with all services. The ProScan Pink Ribbon Centers performed a free mammogram for a male patient this year under the Mammogram Match Program. Men get breast cancer too and we are proud to serve everyone in need.
The 15th Annual Pink Ribbon Luncheon is the main funding source for all of the Pink Ribbon Programs. The Main Event took place on Thursday, October 8th. Up-and-comer, 17 year-old ovarian cancer survivor, Caly Bevier wowed the audience with her performance of Fight Song. She shared about her journey with cancer and how the Fight Song by Rachel Platten helped her to keep fighting. Caly will be returning for the 16th Annual Queen City Classic Chess Tournament to sing the national anthem.
Looking ahead at 2017, we are excited to launch our newest Pink Ribbon Program. The Pink Ribbon Breast MRI Program will cover the cost of breast MRI for women with dense breasts who otherwise could not afford this lifesaving test. We are also looking forward to continuing the growth of the Chess in Schools Program. As we conclude another successful year, I encourage you to “Like” the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund on Facebook and visit our website at www.ccpf.org. Be sure to watch the Chess in Schools video we completed this year!
With your help, we are looking forward to serving those in need in 2017. Thanks for your continued support in so many ways!

“To All the Incredible People at the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund:
On May 13th, the day before I received a dual mastectomy, a beautiful box arrived in my home. My daughter helped me open it and I was just overwhelmed with what I found inside.
There are no words to express my appreciation, gratitude, and love I felt. So I will not say anything. It can’t be penned.
Thank you so very, very much. It lifted my spirits in ways I never knew anything could just hours before the surgery.”
