TERMINAL 5 EXTENSION PROJECT - OBJECTIVES

• Extend Concourse M to accommodate nine (9) new widebody aircraft

• Create operational resiliency to improve flexibilities to assign airlines and aircraft between the central terminal area and T5, which over the long-term may include rebalancing the mix between domestic and international passenger traffic operating from T5.

• Balance the timing of improvements between need and costs, focusing on trying to reuse existing facilities where possible.

• Provide timely delivery of additional near-term capacity to alleviate anticipated capacity constraints and to facilitate phasing of the broader terminal area development program.

• Minimize the impact for all airlines during the execution of the Project, including consideration of the duration that gates need to be taken out of service for passenger loading bridge and fuel pit works.

• One lead A/E firm will be chosen for the design of new terminal development at O’Hare

• Primary focus will be on the anticipated O’Hare Central Facility• The O’Hare Central Facility is the centerpiece of the terminal area plan for

O’Hare 21 and the design should reflect the significance of this component of the project

• Design team will be expected to include industry leading experts on security technology as well as new technology for passenger amenities

• Anticipated project delivery method is Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R). Accordingly, design team will work closely with CM@R firm during preconstruction services and throughout the life of the project

General DescriptionReplacement of all eight 75,000 MBH HighTemperature Water (HTW) Generators along withtheir associated equipment. Thisproject also involves developing designs necessaryto replace the North High Temperature Water(HTW) Pumps P-4, P-5 and P-6. Additionally, thescope includes upgrading the functionality ofexisting piping cross-connections.

This proposed hybridsolution will be fully redundant with high voice qualityin both above ground, underground, and ring tunnellocations providing service to the airport perimeter.The public safety system shall have interoperabilitywith the Chicago Police and Fire Department radiosystems. Funding will cover design, equipmentpurchase, installation, and all frequency licensing.Scope of the RFP also includes a ten yearmaintenance program*. COMED DUCT BANK - CONSTRUCTION

General Description:The existing Com Ed duct that provides primaryfeeders to the Airport is original and has failed tothe point that replacement of cable is not possible.The new duct will be made up of 9-way and 18-way5” concrete encased duct connecting from near theRunway 28R ALSF shelter to the D-179 substation.The duct will be installed primarily in the east laneof Spine Road on the N-S run and along the southedge for the E-W portion. A connection acrossMannheim Road will also be replaced.
