GENERAL INTRODUCTION Application Description Application is to chase one (1) or more single face webs to a bottom line web into the glue station of a corrugating line. Control is done over serial communication using the SBPC-2X FifeNet gateway interface. Two (2) CDP-01-M’s with FifeNet firmware, three (3) SE-34’s, and an SBPC-2X are required for this application. Software Part Numbers The specific functions of this application are pre-set by Matrix Setup and State Machine. The software part numbers are indicated on a label on the side of the CDP-01 housing. They include the Matrix Setup No. ( MS ), the State Machine No. ( SM ) and the firmware version ( Dx ). The software part numbers differ depending on the version of the application (electrical or hydraulic control of the rotating frame [web-compensating drive]): CDP version: Guide #1 D1:565051.02x MS:100292.02x Please quote these D2: SM:100294.02x details with all inquiries. D3: FIFE USA CDP version: Guide #2 D1:565051.02x MS:100293.02x Please quote these D2: SM:100294.02x details with all inquiries. D3: FIFE USA SBPC-21: Matrix:100424.02x

Note: for these applications, signal amplifiers with firmware version ≥ 2.0 must be used.

OVERVIEW OF FUNCTION Operator Control Options The CDP-01 signal amplifier can be operated by way of the CDP-01 control panel (internal operation) or from the SBPC-2X (external operation). NOTE: The parallel port (X7) is disabled and will NOT control the CDP-01. The symbols below are used for the various operator control options in the following:

Internal operation External operation Special Features of External Control

When the operation modes are being controlled via external control, the Automatic, Servo-Center, Manual keys of the CDP-01 control panel are disabled.

If the cable to the serial port ( -X8 ) of the CDP-01 is disconnected, the CDP-01 will NOT function.

SUPPLEMENTARY OPERATING MANUAL 2 2-3 Scheduled Data Words 3 & 4 are used to change the Guidepoint in CDP #1, and Scheduled Data Words 8 & 9 are used to change the Guidepoint in CDP #2. To function properly, they must be used in conjunction with each other as noted below.

●Data word 3 or 8 (SM Command) selects the command. The commands are a four (4) digit Hex number, which are sent on scheduled data word SM Command #1 or #2. The first two (2) digits are the commands followed by the third digit to indicate the sensor selection. The fourth digit chooses the drive, which in a single drive CDP-01, will always be one (1). The table below explains this command using a 4 digit Hex number.

Guidepoint Set Commands (SM Command) HEX Commands

X X = Command X = Parameter 1 X = Parameter 2 Decimal Equivalent

0 1 = Guidpoint 1 = Edge Left 2 = Edge Right 3 = Center Guide

1 = Drive 1

273 = Edge Left 289 = Edge Right 305 = Center Guide

●Data word 4 or 9 (Value) controls the amount of offset. The range for the Guidepoint is -32768 to +32767 (decimal) with a default value of zero (0). The recommended use is to set the Value while the SM Command is zero (0). Then select the command with the SM Command. As soon as the CDP-01 receives the command signal, it will immediately send the command back on scheduled Data Word 20 or 28 (SM Command Feedback) for ‘hand shaking’.

GUIDING METHODS Guiding Without Master SE-34 The CDP-01 is setup, as a standard, to chase a web to a bottom line web using the Master SE-34 sensor. However, the CDP-01 is also setup to Guide a web without chasing to a bottom line web. This may be desired if the Master SE-34 is down for repairs. Using sensor modes Line Edge (LED 12), Line Center (LED 11), and Line Edge & Center (LED’s 11 & 12) you can guide without chasing. The CDP-01 is shipped from the factory with these sensor modes disabled. However, they can be enabled by following the instructions in Figure Sheet 1-721, CDP-01 Reference Manual, “Restricting Sensor Selection” section, on page 8-2. All commands via serial communication are still functional, e.g. Guidepoint control. If the Master SE-34 is disconnected from the FifeNet network, the system will not function. The following procedure must be performed to allow the system to function without the Master SE-34.

BEFORE BEGINNING THIS SETUP

NOTE: Disconnect power to the CDP-01.

Hold down the F1 key and re-apply power. Continue to Hold until LED 4 lights up.

Check: LED 4 is lit.

Release the F1 key.

Check: LED 4 flashes.

Disconnect power to the CDP-01.

Re-apply power to the CDP-01.

Check: LED 4 is lit.

To indicate this setup LED 4 will remain lit. The CDP-01 will NOT chase to the bottom line web. When the Master SE-34 is repaired and re-installed, follow the procedure for “Chasing with Master SE-34”.

Page 14: CDP-01 Additional Operating Manual - Maxcess Americas · CDP-01 Additional Operating Manual For Corrugator Single Face Guide Using ... The system components must be connected in accordance

SUPPLEMENTARY OPERATING MANUAL 3 3-2 Chasing With Master SE-34 If the CDP-01 was setup for Guiding only using ”Guide Without Master SE-3”, the CDP-01 will NOT chase the bottom line web. When the Master SE-34 is repaired and re-connected to the FifeNet network, perform the following procedure.

BEFORE BEGINNING THIS SETUP

NOTE: Disconnect power to the CDP-01.

Hold down the F2 key and re-apply power. Continue to Hold until LED 5 lights up.

Check: LED 5 is lit.

Release the F2 key.

Check: LED 5 flashes.

Disconnect power to the CDP-01.

Re-apply power to the CDP-01.

Check: LED’s 4 or 5 are NOT lit.

To indicate normal setup both LED’s 4 & 5 will be off. The CDP-01 will chase to the bottom line web using sensor modes Edge Left (LED 9), Edge Right (LED 10), and Center guiding (LED 9 & 10).
