As expected, a double dissolution election will be held on Saturday the 2nd of July. Antony Green, Australia’s best Election Ana- lyst, has predicted the likelihood of a Christian Democratic Party Senate Candidate winning a Senate Seat: “You would expect the Coalition vote to improve on its 2013 result, but getting above the 42% level to have a chance for a sixth seat looks problematic. Preferences with the Christian Democrats may be important in delivering either a sixth Coalition seat, or Coalition preferences delivering a seat to the Christian Democrats” (Antony Green). Well as I predicted back in February we now have a federal election on the 2nd of July.

The CDP has never been in a more favourable situation than now to make its mark on the federal scene. We are standing candidates in both the Lower Houses (House of Representatives) and the Senate in NSW and the Senate in all the States.

As we approach Polling Day can I please make a special request and ask all our members, supporters, and volunteers to take the time to help build our membership by encouraging a friend, work colleague, neighbour, or one of your church parishioners to JOIN the CDP. It is

only through members that we grow and are able to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ through our political party the CDP. Our May Member Month Campaign has started so please be part of this national initiative.

I would also encourage all our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to vote for the CDP as we grow and expand our indigenous network. I would also like to take the opportunity to remind our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to take advantage of temporary job opportunities at election time at the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). CDP News Issue 4 | May 2016

The Treasurer Scott Morrison delivered the Budget for Australia which lacked some vital provisions for us as Christians.

School chaplains have lost taxpayer funding after the Turnbull government jettisoned a raft of flagship Coalition education programs in the budget.

We need to ensure Australia continues to uphold its Judeo-Christian heritage by retaining religious education in our schools.

The Turnbull led Liberal Team fall short in:

• Allocating funds for international aid for persecuted Christians

• Maintaining the school chaplaincy funding

The Christian Democratic Party has set a new and critical direction in the upcoming federal election by standing Senate candidates in every state and territory which no other Christian based party is doing. With this in mind, we need to keep the CDP Campaign Team on course.

The future of all Christians and their families depend on it.

That’s why I’m asking for your help.

Would you consider donating $25, $50 or $100 to our election campaign? Go to cdp.org.au, and click on donate.

The forthcoming election will be critical for us as Christians.

With your support, the CDP Campaign Team will continue to fight to restore the balance in Australian politics.

Thank you for your assistance and prayers. n
